What’s So Special About Tonkatsu AOKI Luckychinatown Mall?

Tonkatsu AOKI – I first tried tonkatsu when I was in high school, so when I saw Tonkatsu AOKI Philippines, I couldn’t help but wonder about how a Japanese restaurant could specialize in only one type of food.

If you’re here for the first time, I’d like to invite you to follow me on my socials – Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok so you’re updated on our recent food, hotel, and travel reviews!

Tonkatsu AOKI Restaurant MENU

There’s a lot to choose from from the Tonkatsu AOKI menu. While you might think, there’s only one type of meat they use for tonkatsu, you’d be surprised about how much you can find on their menu.

I even had to read the description before choosing what to order. And I’m sure that’s what you’re into as well: to find out the best meat cut for your tonkatsu. So, let’s dive into what we ordered during our visit.

Hire

All lean meat cut is what hire offers.

With less fat and more meat, hire should be your first choice if you want to have lean meat without the guilt. Purely meat, hire is priced at 599 PHP (10.16 USD) and already comes with bowl of rice, soup, side dishes, and unlimited cabbage.

So many sauces? You should try the Himalayan black salt — we loved its smokiness!

I find that this price is worth it because you’ll already be full once you finish your set. You can choose from 200g or 300g, depending on your hunger.

Kata with curry 300g

I was craving curry during our first visit. So when we found that Kata comes with curry sauce for the price of 850 PHP (14.41 USD), I knew I had to order it at Tonkatsu LCM. We had the curry sauce separated, because we weren’t sure if the curry was spicy.

True enough, it had the kick, so if you’re not a fan of spicy things, better not order it!

Tokuro 300g

We came back a few days after, and ordered a different variant of meat. Tokuro seemed to be the closest meat as that of kata, so that’s what I tried.

Tokuro has that balance of meat and little bit of fat — for juiciness!

A little less fatty than kata, tokuro also had a bit of juiciness, so among the 3, this is my best bet.

I was surprised to find that there are other Tonkatsu AOKI branches in different parts of Japan. Not only that, but there’s also a Tonkatsu AOKI Tuguegarao, so if you’re there and suddenly want something juicy and yummy, you should eat there.

Tonkatsu AOKI review Philippines conclusion
