Rossopomodoro, SM Mall of Asia – Eight months ago, a new Italian restaurant MOA opened isn’t that crowded. We wondered why not many people go there. So we decided to try it out, and found out the reason. Read more to know why.

BOGO Pasta
We weren’t aware of the Rossopomodoro promotions during our visit. But the server gladly told us that we could order a pasta for sharing and get a solo pasta depending on the pasta included on the Rossopomodoro menu (Philippines).

But apparently, the ones on the buy 1 get 1 menu had their bestseller which is carbonara, so we chose that one and got the bolognese for the free. Read on to know more about my Rossopomodoro review!
So, until when can you avail of the Rossopomodoro buy 1 get 1 free?
You have to HURRY! Because the promo runs for 3 days only: from Oct 25 to 27, 2025! And I assure you, your money is all worth it!
Rossopomodoro menu price
Apart from ordering Rossopomodoro pizza, we also ordered other dishes to check whether they’re good. And it was an experience that would make us wanting to go back for more!

Cinque Formaggi
We didn’t find our usual Quattro Formaggi on this Italian restaurant MOA menu, instead, we found this uniquely named Cinque Formaggi. It’s the nearest flavor to our usual menu, and it certainly didn’t disappoint!
Each slice of the Cinque Formaggi had that blend of the cheeses included: smoked cheese, gorgonzola, provolone, pecorino romano, and parmesan cheese.

But there’s a twist!
There were ground hazelnuts – so you get a bit of that Nutella taste without the guilt!
Rigatoni ala Carbonara
Okay. Before I share the taste of the carbonara, it’s short story time!
So, we decided to try the pasta since they have this buy one get one promo. And we chose to get the carbonara. However, since we didn’t like the rigatoni noodles, we asked the server if we could request for a change of the pasta.
He said we could. So we requested to have them changed to fettuccine instead.
However, when it arrived, (as you can see clearly on the photo), the type of pasta was the one on the menu. And after calling the server, he denied telling us about the change of pasta type, saying it wasn’t allowed (when, in fact, he did say we could), and he even said that we only requested to change the free pasta (bolognese).

In the end, we chose peace over fighting about the type of pasta. And just accepted the order so as to save the server from having to pay for the wrong noodle type.
So back to our review on this Rigatoni ala Carbonara – we were right when we requested for a change in pasta, because we couldn’t savor the flavor of the carbonara that well with the large pieces of noodles.

Anyway, the incident a during our visit just reminds me of the famous saying “to err is human.” And I believe that forgiving someone is a good example of being Christ-like. So we just let it be. I just hope that this doesn’t happen to any of you in the future.
Pro Tip: When ordering the same menu, and if you’re like us who want a change of something, better to clarify again before finalizing your orders to avoid dilemmas like what happened today.
Tagliatelle alla Bolognese
This one’s a hit!
Upon our first bite, we immediately fell in love with its taste. The server (who was at fault in my story) has correctly described the sauce as less tangy, and thanks to him, we ordered bolognese – of course, the request to change the pasta was fulfilled, thank God!

The ground beef made everything balanced, eventually making us finish linguine bolognese first than the carbonara. So, the next time we go back (yes, we will be back for sure), we won’t forget this pasta!
Porchetta
Our dinner can’t be complete without a protein source, and hubby wanted Porchetta, so that goes into our order list. Look at the Porchetta photo and you’ll almost feel how good this slice of pork belly is.

When I first tried it, I told hubby how well it was marinated, because the meat was very flavorful that you don’t need any other sauces. But there are other sauces you can add in case you want something else.
Rossopomodoro locations
Rossopomodoro branches are found in 3 different malls: SM East Ortigas, SM Mall of Asia, and Festival Mall Alabang. We tried this one at SM Mall of Asia and were delighted with how legit the taste of their food was, so I suppose the 2 other branches also offer the same quality as what we’ve eaten.

Rossopomodoro review conclusion
I know my photo didn’t do justice to how nice Rossopomodoro dishes are in real life. But I love how cozy the place is and that there weren’t many people when we dined. However, I do wish that people would try it to find out how yummy their food are.
If Rossopomodoro Restaurant serves great food, why aren’t people lining up there?
My hunch is that because of its location, which is inside Maple Tree, is causing them to be unknown to the people. Apart from that, they aren’t marketing that much, so not all people know more about them.

Other Italian restaurants I highly recommend
Many Italian restaurants in Metro Manila don’t really offer quality food for their price. But we’ve found quite a few who offer great dishes along with yummy drinks as well. Check out some of the Italian restaurants that are great bang for buck.
Gufo Cafe

During our search for new restaurants to try, we stumbled upon Gufo Cafe. A lowkey cafe and lounge welcomed us with delish dishes and an intimate setting where you’ll want to go back to. Gufo Cafe and Lounge is where you can spend a sweet night with your partner, but also a place where even kids can enjoy.
