Don Don Tei – When was the last time you had something so good yet affordable? Me was when we tried Don Don Tei. We were skeptical at first, but then, the gut feel told us we should try it out, and it was the best thing that happened that day.

Don Don Tei Greenhills menu
Before trying a Japanese restaurant out, we always check its menu first. Thankfully, Don Don Tei menu price was displayed outside its Greenhills Tower branch when we went there. And after finding some of the food that we like, we went in (since it was off peak during that time).

We went there to eat at 5 PM, and it wasn’t that jam packed. It was a wise decision because after an hour had past, people started queueing outside. And we were surprised at how famous Don Don Tei was!

Don Don Tei menu
While there are many Greenhills Japanese restaurant (San Juan), we were at the area near Don Don Tei looking for where to eat. And we got curious about whether we could add it to our go-to Japanese restaurant, so we tried it!
And, I must say, that we’d be frequenting the place! (We already went to its other branch, Don Don Tei MOA the other day!) So what did we liked about this restaurant?
Mango kani salad
It has been so long since I last ordered a mango kani salad. But since I wanted something clean and fresh, I chose it as there are no other salads on the menu. When it arrived, we immediately devoured it.

The size isn’t that big, but what do you expect from a 285 PHP (5.01 USD) worth of salad, right? In my opinion, the salad is good for 1 only, so if you love salads, better order one for each of you!
Gyoza

Gyoza is the Japanese version of the Chinese dumplings and Korean mandu. And if you love meat wrapped in soft wrapper, then Don Don Tei’s gyoza should be on your order list!
Sukiyaki hotpot

For some reason, we’ve been craving sukiyaki in our recent Japanese resto venture! And we’ve been looking for this hearty soup on the menu, instead of our usual ramen order. Maybe because of the rich and umami flavor each hotpot bowl brings.
Inside a hotpot bowl (which is good for sharing about 2-3 persons), you’ll find glass noodles, generous beef slices, tofu, onion, mushrooms, and an egg. Definitely a must try if you love sweet and savory soup!
Chicken karaage

Our son wanted chicken karaage, so we got it for him, and it had chicken pieces that tasted like other legit Japanese restaurants. Definitely a comfort food, not only for kids, but also for adults. The order also came with shredded cabbage salad.
Gyudon

My eyes laid upon the gyudon bowl and I really wanted to try it out. So when we ordered it, we were amazed at how generous the serving of beef was. My son ate more than half of the bowl! We ordered it again on our 2nd visit.
Gyudon beef bowl comes with a cup of miso soup.
Don Don Tei branches
Don Don Tei already has 3 branches here in the Philippines. Below are where you’ll find them.
We haven’t checked Don Don Tei menu Galleria, but upon seeing that both MOA and Greenhills Tower branches have the same, the 3rd branch probably have the same too!
Greenhills Tower
Found on the 5th floor of Greenhills Tower
Robinson’s Galleria
Located on the upper ground floor
SM Mall of Asia
Go to the North Main Mall, it is located on the 1st floor, near Niku Niku Oh Kome
Don Don Tei Greenhills Japanese restaurant review conclusion
If you’re looking for affordable Japanese restaurant, Greenhills has a lot to offer! And while not all of them have the same quality, what I can assure you is that Don Don Tei is one where you can dine and exit with all smiles.

Other Japanese restaurants we love
What’s not to love about Japanese restaurant? They offer a whole bunch of food to choose from, plus, most of the time, you’ll find just about anything in them! Below are some of the best Japanese restaurants that we frequent!
Manmaru Japanese Restaurant
It might be our first time dining at Manmaru Japanese Restaurant because we’re not near that place. But the next time we’re in the area, I’m sure we’ll go back there (provided the queue isn’t long!)
Full review here.

Tomo Japanese Dining
Another place that’s always jampacked is the Tomo Japanese Dining. Go there during the peak hours and you’ll have to wait long to be seated. Make your reservation ahead of time so you’ll have seats ready for you!
Here’s what I can say about our experience in Tomo.
Sushi Ten Restaurant
An underrated Japanese restaurant is what I can say about Sushi Ten Restaurant. It’s hidden in a hotel, so people don’t really see it. As a matter of fact, you have to go up the long escalator of Sheraton Hotel Manila Bay.
See what we love on the Sushi Ten menu.
Chiba Restaurant
When you’re in Clark, a place to have a quiet and relaxing time while eating good food is Chiba Restaurant. We didn’t know about until our friend brought us there. Want to know what we enjoy there? Check here.
