Baristart Coffee, Philippines – We still haven’t gotten over our Hokkaido trip and since we couldn’t go back yet, we went to this coffee shop founded in Hokkaido in June 2015, but without leaving the country.

Baristart Coffee (San Juan)
Six months into opening, Baristart Coffee Hokkaido is one that we haven’t seen yet before. Although we’re not really strangers with Greenhills Tower, when hubby found out about Baristart, we were surprised it had been there for half a year already.

And out of curiosity, we went to try it out to see how it differs with any other Greenhills cafe. To get there, you have to go to Greenhills Tower, the new mall, and when you see Yogorino on the ground floor, just exit the mall, and you’ll find Baristart Coffee on your right.

Baristart Coffee Greenhills opening hours: Sunday to Thursdays – 7 AM to 10 PM, Fridays and Saturdays up to 11 PM
Address: Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan City, 1502 Metro Manila
Contact number: 0917 180 8826

Baristart Coffee Philippines menu
Before I saw the Baristart Coffee menu, I already knew what to order. I saw the poster outside the store and wanted to try out the milk donut – because they look too delectable. So, what to expect?

Pistachio Cream Donut
We were choosing between chocolate and pistachio, and we couldn’t decide which one to choose. In the end, we got a pistachio cream donut, because it’s more trending and has a more unique flavor than chocolate.

And when it arrived, the pistachio cream was oozing out of the donut hole.

Instantly, we got it and took a bite. I loved the creamy and sweet outer part of the donut. The cream filled soft donut has that perfect blend to relax you after a whole day’s stress. If you’ve been following me, you’ll know that this tita is not a fan of sweets – but this pistachio milk donut is a game changer!

I’m already looking forward to another piece of donut soon!

Lemonade Espresso
To counter the sweetness of the milk donut, we ordered a different kind of coffee, called Lemonade Espresso. What I loved about it is the slightly tangy flavor freshly squeezed lemons have added to our usual black coffee.

My verdict?
This special black coffee is a must-try if you’re an adventurous foodie. Will I order it again? Definitely! The Baristart Coffee price for this drink is all worth it! (Do take note that we have different tastes, so what makes my tastebuds giddy, might not work well on yours.)

If you love milk in your coffee, then Baristart Coffee is where you’ll experience a different kind of latte. For one, the milk that they use is called Hokkaido milk and is sourced from Brown Jersey cows.
Karaage
As a lover of Japanese dishes, we wanted to see if Baristart Coffee’s karaage is a legit one. When it arrived, 6 large pieces of boneless thighs covered in crunchy outer layer came with a generous amount of salad.

The chicken was hubby approved, however, he didn’t like the sour salad dressing included in it. It was fine for me, who loves sour sauces, so I devoured it with gusto.
We had the wasabi mayo sauce changed to regular mayo, and the server gladly obliged. Thanks to that, my son enjoyed his afternoon snack!
Baristart Coffee branches
We haven’t been to any Baristart Coffee Japan branches, even though we love going to the country. Here in the Philippines, they have 2 branches, one in Greenhills Tower and another one in BGC.

Baristart Coffee Philippines reviews conclusion
I want to share our Baristart Coffee review with you because I think it’s a bit underrated for its quality. Since most mainstream coffee shops are almost always too crowded, we prefer to check out other cafes and discover new tastes.
And this a bit new Greenhills coffee menu – because not all coffee shops offer the same menu – should be on your go-to list if you want to relax and enjoy great snacks and drinks.

More Greenhills coffee shop
If you reach this part, I think your blood has a bit of caffeine in it already. Haha! Kidding aside, there’s more to try when you’re in Greenhills, especially since the new Greenhills Tower has opened and is offering more great food and stores.
Below are some of the best coffee shops we’ve tried, and I invite you to check these Greenhills coffee shop photos – because they deserve some love too!
Niseko Coffee

I’m so happy that Niseko Coffee is finally gaining more supporters! It used to be a quiet little matcha (and coffee) shop we frequent. And now, we have to line up when buying there! Feels bittersweet, but they deserve it!

Hoshino Coffee

Even before we were able to try Hoshino Coffee, I already knew it’s a legit Japanese style coffee shop. And yes, apart from the nice interior, we also love its food and drinks! We haven’t been back again, but I’m sure it’s nice to dine there again in the near future!
