Regal Riverside Hotel, Hong Kong — One of the reasons we always choose Regal Riverside Hotel Shatin HK is that it’s one of the most affordable Hong Kong hotels. But you know what, there are more reasons to consider this place.

Where to stay in Hong Kong?
When choosing a place to stay in the Fragrant Harbour, you must always consider its distance from tourist attractions. Below are some districts to consider so you’re not too far away from Hong Kong tourist spots.
Tsim Sha Tsui
If you’ve been planning your Hong Kong tourist spots itinerary, then, Tsim Sha Tsui must be a very familiar term already! Because there are many Hong Kong tourist places there.

There’s the Victoria Harbour and Clock Tower, the K11 Musea (where you can shop branded goods), Avenue of Stars, 1881 Heritage, and so much more!
So, if you want to visit these places, better to book hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui!

Causeway Bay

Another district to consider is Causeway Bay, because if you want to visit Times Square, Tin Hau Temple, Don Don Donki, and more, this area is where you’ll have less distance to travel.
Check out where you can stay here.
Wan Chai

Many places to visit with family in Hong Kong are close to Wan Chai. When you’re there, you can go to the Golden Bauhinia Square and Central Plaza. Score great shopping deals when you check out products at Tai Yuen Street and Wan Chai Market!

Shatin
Of course, I can’t forget to include Shatin as a place to stay in Hong Kong because that’s why this post was made in the first place!
Why choose Shatin then?

Shatin is a place that offers a whole lot of hotels for different needs. You could be looking for high-end hotels or cheap Hong Kong hotels, and find them on the list. Best of all, you can even find hotels with a view (just like Regal Riverside Hotel!), so it’s a win-win!
Of course, Shatin is also near Hong Kong tourist attractions, so check this Regal Riverside Hotel review to find out if it’s to your liking!

Standard Queen Room
On our last visit to Hong Kong, we booked a 12 sq meter room that’s quite cramped, but it’s totally worth every penny. Yes, the room was very small, but who needs a large room if you’re always outdoors checking out the most beautiful places in Hong Kong?

I can’t say if the bed that we had was a double bed or a queen bed, but it fitted us 3, so we couldn’t care less. As long as we fits, we sits (that’s the famous saying, right?).

The bathroom has just the right space. Sure, it has everything that one might need – so you don’t have to worry about toiletries too!

Anyhow, the bed was really comfy that it lets you sleep without a problem. The room air conditioning was working perfectly, so you can rest soundly after walking and shopping all day!
Complete amenities

The room had everything you might need during your stay – water kettle, teas and coffee packets, a mini ref, basic toiletries, and huge bottles of conditioning shampoo and bath gel.

It also included a simple Hong Kong-style breakfast, so you have the energy so you can still complete your Hong Kong tourist spots list. There were noodles, fish ball, bread, eggs, and the likes. Not really that grand, but enough to make you feel full to fuel your morning!

There’s a mini playground on the way to the Regal Riverside Hotel buffet breakfast place.
My son was very tempted to stay there very long. But since he knew we had to go somewhere, he resisted the urge to spend a lot of time there.

If you notice, there’s also a garden outside, so you can also hold special events at Regal Riverside Hotel.

But you know what’s the best part of the Regal Riverside Hotel?
Its the river view from the window! I could lay on the bed just enjoying the view outside. Seeing the trees swaying with the wind, and watching birds flock by as the river flows endlessly, that’s the kind of window view you wouldn’t exchange for.

The only problem we had during our stay…
The only downside was that the refrigerator wasn’t working perfectly during our stay.
It doesn’t get cold – not really a problem if you don’t use it. However, since we buy fresh milk in liter for our son, we need it to prevent the milk from getting spoiled.
We learned about it after returning at night, so we called the receptionist. Thankfully, they were quick to respond. And voila, someone brought another mini ref in exchange for the one that’s broken.
Will we be back here?
Of course!
We love that we learned about this affordable Hong Kong accommodation and be able to stay away from the buzzling streets of Hong Kong. Regal Riverside Hong Kong will ensure you have a good night’s sleep because the area has a very quiet space.
Regal Riverside Hotel Shatin getting there
From Shatin station, Regal Riverside Hotel is just a few minutes walk (well it depends how fast you walk, though). And you will never get bored while walking because there’s a great scenic view of the river along the way. I’ve always loved traveling to and from Regal Riverside Shatin (it wasn’t our first time going there).
