Where to eat in Ongpin, Binondo

Now, there’s people everywhere in Binondo looking for addition to their Binondo eats vlog. Before it happened, there are very few who know where to find food to eat in Binondo.
And Mr. Pao Restaurant is another place that’s yet to be discovered. So, here I am sharing with you what we enjoyed during our visit!

Xiao long bao
Famous for the 99 pesos xiao long bao, Mr. Pao nailed it when they offered the discounted dimsum. It was a great treat if you want a legit xiao long bao (unlike other restaurants we tried which didn’t have any soup left inside) at an affordable price.
Beef hofan
Looking just like fettuccine, beef hofan is like a Chinese style pasta that’s made with rice flour. If you love carbs, I believe you’ll love beef hofan. Make it even more flavorful by adding a teaspoon or 2 of chili sauce.
Braised beef rice topping
For the price of 325 pesos, the braised beef rice topping had just enough beef slices. The large serving of rice is enough for sharing by me and my son, because we’re not really fans of rice.
Thanks to the addition of steamed veggie, you get a complete meal!
Sweet and sour pork
After eating all the good things above, we were quite disappointed with the sweet and sour pork. Because when it came, it looked a lot different than what we usually order.
The coated pork strips were dipped in orange sauce. And it seemed to us that the chef came from a different province so he cooked the sweet and sour pork a different way.
But to be fair, the pork strips weren’t that tough, so they break easily with our adult teeth. However the sauce was more on the tangy taste, so it tastes something like tomato sauce pork.
Mr. Pao branches
Currently, there’s a newly opened Mr. Pao branch in Makati, so there’s already 2 branches in total as of writing.
Mr. Pao Binondo review conclusion
I must say there are so many different kinds of dimsum Binondo has. But sad to say, not all of them are legit. And where does Mr. Pao Binondo fall? As someone who’s tasted quality dimsum, Mr. Pao is one that’s legit.
