But, I’m sure you’re dying to find out if the meat, soup, and sauces are worth your money. So, let’s get down to business and start drooling at the food we’ve just eaten.

Henhao hotpot menu

What’s in the Henhao Hotpot Philippines menu? I was just as curious as you when I heard Henhao Hotpot has opened. But you don’t have to travel there to know all about it. Know that there are:

3 courses to choose from

Hotpot only – 799 PHP (13.64 USD)

Hotpot and BBQ – 999 PHP (17.06 USD)

Wagyu hotpot and BBQ – 1,599 PHP (27.30 USD)

Of course, with the priciest on the menu, you get better beef quality. We didn’t try it yet, but maybe next time we will!

Soup base

Before you start the staff will let you choose 4 soup bases. And it might get intimidating at first, but once you get to know the soup bases, you’ll surely find out what ticks your taste buds.

Soup bases:

Spicy Mala (dipping ONLY!) – this is only for cooking, and I don’t know how spicy it is, but was afraid to try!

Mushroom soup

Golden soup

Tom yum goon

Seafood soup

White pepper pork soup

Tomato soup

Malatang (drinkable)

We chose mushroom soup, seafood soup, white pepper porksoup, and tom yum goong. Personally, I like tom yum goong, so I chose that. The sour and slightly spicy soup surprised my tastebuds. And while I normally like it, it didn’t seem to be my favorite last night.

The top 1 on my list is the seafood soup. Upon tasting it, I knew it will linger not only in my tongue, but also in my mind. So, I’m sure to get it again the next time we go back.

Clockwise from top left: white pepper soup, mushroom soup, seafood soup, and tom yum goong.

The rank 2 among the soups is the mushroom soup. Light and earthy, this soup can easily become any vegetarian’s favorite. Not spicy at all, the mushroom soup is a bit savory and adds umami flavor to your meat, noodles, and veggies.

The white pepper pork soup is one that’s a bit weird for my taste, because the soup is flavorful due to the bone broth. On the other hand, the white pepper adds that spiciness (not as spicy as the tom yum goong, though) so you don’t get tired of eating just the meat.

2 hours to eat – no leftovers

Just like any other buffet, the policy of no leftovers is there. And at Henhao Restaurant, you can eat for 120 minutes or 2 hours. That’s more than enough to fill anyone’s hungry stomach!

Meat

henhao meat

Three types of meat are included in the course we ordered.

There’s marbled beef, US beef, and pork belly. Among the 3, our favorite is the marbled beef. Of course, as much as possible we like to choose the less fatty meat.

Make sure to not overcook your meat so as not to make them tough to eat.

PRO Tip: Just add your raw meat to the soup and cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, and immediately get them once they change color.

Balls

The list of balls is endless!

We love the pork mushroom balls and golden cheese balls!

We found so many different kinds of balls, but of course, our favorites will always stay the same: cheese balls and pork mushroom balls. I was curious as to how the salted egg crystal ball tasted like, however, I got dismayed upon seeing it was out of stock.

We also tried the octopus ball, and were amazed to find tiny bits of octopus meat inside. If you love squid ball, you’ll surely love the octopus ball as well!

Veggies

For veggies, we usually get watercress, kangkong, taro, and enoki mushroom. But you’re welcome to order others. Henhao Hotpot also have bamboo shoots, soft tofu, and oyster mushroom.

udon, veggies

Noodles and rice

We opted to get the classic Japanese udon noodles and ignored all the others on the Henhao Hotpot and BBQ menu. But you can also get Hokkaido noodles and potato noodles, other than that, you can also order Japanese rice if you’re still missing your carbs.

Sauces

When the soup and some of our orders arrived, we were thinking about the hotpot sauce. Because, usually they give you or tell you where to get them. When asked the server, they said they could get it for us there on the sauce buffet table.

So, we just stood up and made ours ourselves.

So, what’s in the sauce buffet table?

Mushroom sauce and spicy beef sauce, black vinegar, sesame seed, oyster sauce, and shabu shabu sauce. Of course, the garnishings can’t be complete without chopped fresh garlic, wansoy, spring onion, and chili.

Another addition to the sauces are pepper oil (which is something new to me!) and sugar.

Iced tea

The server that handles our table also brought a pitcher of cold water and peach iced tea, and he gladly refills them when they get emptied.

Dessert

The only dessert included on the Henhao menu is the coconut ice cream with latik drizzle. Sad to say, it was out of stock, and when we asked the staff, he said the ice cream melted because they forgot to put them in the freezer.

So, maybe we’ll try it the next time we go back!

BBQ menu

There was quite a lot to choose from the BBQ menu, however, when we checked on the order list, many are out of stock. Nonetheless, it’s their soft opening so we forgive them. And why would you get mad, when you paid for the price of hotpot only, right?

On the Henhao BBQ menu, we ordered the beef and pork BBQ. When they arrived, they were about 80% cooked, so you just have to cook them for about 3 to 5 minutes on the BBQ grill on your table.

henhao shaokao
A seasoning powder to add more flavor to your Henhao Shaokao meat!

The BBQ also came with a powder seasoning where you can add more flavor to your meat. However, the BBQ itself was already flavorful so I liked them better without adding the powder.

Note: The Henhao Shaokao BBQ meat were a bit spicy, so if you don’t like spicy food, then try only a few sticks, as no leftover is allowed.

Henhao Hotpot and BBQ Location

Many new stores in Lucky Chinatown Mall are opening now, probably because they’re after the holiday seasons. Henhao Hotpot and BBQ is one of them, and you can easily spot it even by just passing by outside the mall.

Henhao Hotpot reviews conclusion

The best Lucky Chinatown Mall restaurants are usually based on someone’s preference. While Henhao Hotpot has just opened recently, I believe they’re gonna stay open and crowded until the end if they continue their quality in the long run.
