AIA Carnival, Hong Kong – Have you ever been to a carnival? Because I haven’t, so when I learned about a Hong Kong carnival, I knew I had to check it out. Do take note that there’s period only when it operates, so if you’re planning to go, better to mind the dates they’re open.

Have you read my Hong Kong itinerary? If you haven’t yet, make sure to check it out especially if it’s your first time visiting Hong Kong.

When was AIA Carnival open?
After stopping in operations for 2 years (2020 to 2022), AIA Carnival came back after a pause from COVID. And I was happy to experience it for the first time, with it happening on its 11th year, ran from December 22, 2025 to March 1, 2026.

It usually starts from 11 AM and opens until 11 PM, during the peak seasons. But it starts operating at 12 NN and ends at 10 PM during off-peak seasons.

What to expect
All I was expecting to see when I was thinking about AIA Carnival was that it’s an HK carnival, so we’d be playing arcade games inside. But there’s actually more there is! Excited to know more about what to expect at the AIA Carnival? Read on so you’re ready when you want to experience it next year!
Rides

Something to look forward to when you’re a thrilling ride fanatic are the rides included in the AIA Carnival. The high abyss ride plus exciting roller coaster rides would surely make your soul scream with joy, but there are also very low intensity rides like canoe riding, or a kiddie bump car – either way, I’m sure your family would find something to ride during your visit!

Carnival games
If you want to try your luck, or you could be playing with carnival games with your skills, then you should purchase the ticket with 10 free tokens – and you’ll have a blast fighting your way to get the prize you choose.

We were playing with the tokens and didn’t have any luck until it was our last 2 tokens, that’s the time we finally won a prize! What a way to cap off the night!
On most carnival games, you need 4 tokens for the games, and they gave you a lot of chances to win. However, you just have to accept if the prize isn’t for you, then it could probably be isn’t. Haha
Inflatables

There were 2 kinds of inflatables, and you can play inside them with your kid.
However, you have to take note that if your child didn’t meet their height requirement, it was around 130 cm, then an adult should accompany your child – which means you have to purchase 2 entries, so you spend twice the tokens.
In the end, what matters is that your child is enjoying, isn’t it?
Dai Pai Dong
You can stay all day inside AIA Carnival and still not get hungry because they have Dai Pai Dong inside. Literally translating to big license stalls, Dai Pai Dong are food stalls that offer quality dishes – at quite reasonable prices!

And inside this Hong Kong Carnival, you’ll find a well-lit food court where you can dine.

Nonetheless, you can also eat first before going in, which was what we did. We also brought in a tasty snack Hong Kong is proud of – egg waffle. We bought the famous Mammy egg waffle before riding the ferry going to the carnival.
Love this earl grey chocolate chip flavor, btw!
AIA Carnival HK reviews conclusion
Did we enjoy playing at AIA Carnival? Yes! We did! So if there’s a chance to go back again in the future, I’m sure we might too! I hope you enjoyed this AIA Carnival review – because I did my best to share our experience.

More things to do in Hong Kong with kids
When visiting Hong Kong with kids, I’m sure you’re also looking for places and things to do to keep everyone occupied and happy. Below are some of the best things to do in Hong Kong with kids!
Hong Kong Disneyland Park

Who doesn’t want to visit the happiest place on Earth? I’m sure if you’re traveling with kids, one of your priority is going inside Hong Kong Disneyland! Because, who doesn’t? I mean, even as an adult I love going to that place as well, so why wouldn’t kids love it?
We went here twice already, and I’m sure we won’t get tired of going in.

And when you’re there, make sure to get the Dining Offers, because it’s definitely worth your money! Apart from a complete meal, you also have a snack (choose between popcorn and ice popsicle!) for FREE!
Stay in Hong Kong Disney Hotels
I can’t deny that one of the best Hong Kong hotels to stay in is Disneyland Hotel. Apart from the stunning rooms, with different themes, what I like about these themed hotel rooms is that you can get express entry to the Disneyland Park.

And then, you can choose among Disneyland Hotel – with princess theme, Explorer’s Lodge, and Hollywood Hotel (stay tuned for my review of this hotel!). I’m sure you agree with what I’sm saying!

Ocean Park
If you have young children, you’ll definitely have a blast at Ocean Park. Apart from the nice chilling rides, your children would also love the animals showcased inside. The only downside is that it’s quite hot here, so better to bring your portable fans (got mine here!) so you’ll stay cool all day!
Central Mid Levels Escalator

Another place I highly recommend when you have young kids is to ride the longest outdoor escalator connecting Central to Mid Levels. This one had my son happy during our visit 3 years ago (check my full Hong Kong itinerary here!)
Dino Park
Never underestimate free things, because at Dino Park, all the kids were having a great time! Found in New Town Plaza (Shatin), this outdoor playground would make your heart racing from all the fun kids activity there.
