Yun’s Tangerine Peel Roast Goose Restaurant – When in Hong Kong, it’s very easy to find a roast goose restaurant. However, it’s hard to spot which one’s offering great quality dishes. But with Yun’s Tangerine Peel Roast Goose Restaurant, you know its a place you’d want to go back to!

Check out some of the best things to do in Hong Kong here.

We had dinner at Yun’s Tangerine Peel Roast Goose during the first night of our stay at Hotel Madera Hong Kong. After leaving our luggages, we went for a quick walk at Tsim Sha Tsui, went back to Jordan to eat here.

Yun’s Tangerine Peel Roast Goose menu

We were looking for the best Hong Kong places to eat when we suddenly saw this restaurant. And when we saw that the roastings looked good, we knew we had to try it out and see if it tasted good as well.

When we entered the restaurant, we saw that there were many locals eating there. That’s how we knew that we found a gem! So, what can you eat here?

Roast goose

Roast goose, that’s what!

Of course, the main thing we want to try here is the roast goose.

Because it looks so delectable, and it didn’t disappoint! We were very happy about it! The leg slice they gave us was enormous – it came with a generous serving of rice, which we shared.

A piece of veggie was also included, and it was cooked just right, crunchy and soft. So better to try this out! The veggie is called choi sum, btw.

Roast platter

You can also get Yun’s Tangerine Peel roast combination platter if you want to try a variety of their dishes. Included are pork asado, soy chicken, and lechon macau. And again, don’t worry, because the serving is a lot!

We were famished when we entered Yun’s Tangerine Peel, but we our tummies were so big when we’re leaving. This order also came with yellow wasabi and ginger scallion sauce.

Sweet and sour pork

So, if you’re traveling with young kids, and you can’t find a fried chicken for them, one of the best bets is sweet and sour pork. Yun’s Tangerine Peel version has a crunchy outer layer and soft meat inside. We love how contrasting the textures are, so you should give this a try if you’re not adventurous enough to eat goose.

Cutleries and condiments

You might feel like the Hong Kong staff doesn’t want you to eat when they serve you the food because they won’t be giving out cutleries. Instead, you have to check the drawer in your table to get them yourself.

Don’t be hurt, Hong Kong people just want to work efficiently, so they don’t have to serve customers with the essentials. They let you get them yourself.

You can request drinking water (hot, that is) from the staff, and they gave it to us.

Yun’s Tangerine Peel Roast Goose reviews conclusion

Hong Kong roast goose is one of the must-eats because it’s their specialty. So, while I was eating the food we ordered, I was already thinking about how to write this Yun’s Tangerine Peel review – where I could entice you into trying it out.

Where else do you want me to eat? I’d love to try out more Hong Kong dishes in the future, so let me know in the comments!

What to eat in Hong Kong

Apart from roast goose, there are so many great food you should try when in Hong Kong. What to eat if you may ask me? Read below for some of the recommendations – we’ve personally tried, and I think you should too!

Milktea

Milktea here, milktea there, milktea everywhere!

Milktea in the Philippines is usually Taiwanese style – the one that’s milky, and light tea taste, with black boba. But Hong Kong milktea is a bit different. For people like us who love the grassy taste of tea (just like matcha), we love how less milky Hong Kong style milktea is.

Make sure to try it at least once, because it’s one of the best milkteas there is!

Dimsum

Wait for my review of this affordable dimsum house, soon!

No matter how short your trip to Hong Kong is, I believe you should try dimsum.

Siumai (that’s how the locals call it), chicken feet, radish cake, beef ball, etc. are some of our favorites. Try them in the afternoon and you’d be surprised at how long the queue is in most establishments.

Egg tart

Okay, this one’s a no-brainer especially if you joined most Facebook groups where travelers often share their experiences. One of our favorite egg tarts, Bakehouse, offers flaky outer skin and soft egg pudding on the inside. Definitely a place to visit for your egg tart cravings!

Hong Kong-style breakfast

Pineapple bun? Trust me, we love this to bits!

My recent post about Hong Kong food features Hong Kong-style breakfast: Bolton Cafe. I love how cozy it feels inside (and yes, the staff doesn’t care no matter how long we stay there), not to mention the nostalgia you’ll feel while dining there.

So, what are the food Hong Kong people eat for breakfast?

Pineapple bun (no pineapples inside), macaroni soup (yes, looks a lot like our local version), and toast with syrup. Make sure to try them out! Check my Bolton Cafe review here.
