Makati Diamond Residences – Found another one of Makati hotels with pool, and I shall say that I was impressed with some of its facilities that other hotels don’t have. Curious to know what Makati Diamond Residences offer? Read on!
Before finding out this hotel, we frequent The Alpha Suites (I don’t remember how many times we stayed there already). So, if you’re looking for other Makati hotels budget constraint, you should also consider Alpha Suites.

Amenities
Since Makati is a business area, I was thinking that majority of the Makati Diamond Residences amenities would only cater to business needs. But I was totally wrong! I didn’t know that they have so much to offer. Let’s check them out!
Bath tub and shower
First, and foremost, I like to commend the inclusion of both bath tub and shower in their 1 bedroom suite. It’s especially nice to have both if you have kids, because water always bring out happiness in my son.
Apart from that, all the other basic needs are there, so you don’t have to bring one. The only thing to take note of is that they have the shampoo and conditioner in one, and you know the function of both liquids don’t match when mixed (just my opinion, though).Â
Swimming pool and bar
Like most hotels, Makati Diamond Hotel also have a swimming pool, and it’s partly covered, since some parts the sun still passes through the glass cover. Nonetheless, you can stay in the covered area if you forgot to bring your sunscreen.
There’s a bar outside of the pool area, so you can have a drink with your amigos and relax in the hanging chairs.Â
Gym
I’m surprised to find quite a big room for workout, so if you must, you can go there and do your favorite workout. They separated the gym into 2, not sure what reason, though. Nonetheless, just bring your workout clothes and shoes, and you’re good to go!
Clinic
Oh, this one’s something new!
In most hotels we checked in, I haven’t seen a clinic.
This is the first time I saw a clinic inside, and there’s a designated space where you can lie down if you’re feeling unwell. It’s nice to know you can get better without worrying about passing the virus to your families and friends.Â
Business center
This one, I believe, is a necessity, especially if you’re staying at Makati Diamond Residences for business reasons. There was a desktop and laptop inside, a printer, scanner, fax machine, and another machine I don’t know. HahaÂ
All you have to do is to pay, and you can have whatever you needed done.Â
Meeting room
Just beside the business center, there are quite a couple of meeting rooms where you can stay – for 3,500 PHP (58.34 USD) per hour for 8 person.
Spa
Of course, a hotel can’t be complete without a relaxing spa massage, and you’ll know you’re already relaxed even upon entering. The place was scented with the relaxing essential oils you’d typically smell in other wellness centers.Â
Private cinema
Book a 2-bedroom suite or higher to get access to the private cinema in Makati Diamond Residences.Â
Available from 10 AM to 9 PM, the private cinema is only allowed to use with reservations. So be quick and reserve your slot if you want to enjoy the luxurious La-Z Boy chairs while watching your favorite tearjerker!

Water dispenser
Most hotels offer drinking water in small plastic bottles or in reusable glass jars. But Makati Diamond Residence wanted to be different. Apart from helping the Mother Earth, it also wants us to save our voice from having to ask for water refills.
So, what do they have?
A water dispenser inside your room! Isn’t it the coolest?!
Kitchen
I know it was a wise idea that Makati Diamond Hotel has a mini kitchen inside the room. And while the room may be small, you’d be surprised at how much you can cook inside. An electric stove is there complete with cooking pans and saucepans.Â
There’s even a chopping board, knives, cutleries, and some plate.
There’s also a microwave in case you have very little time to heat your food. And then, there’s a dishwashing liquid, a sponge, and a trash bag – to complete your cooking experience! Â
FREEBIES
While checking in, the staff at the reception that the snacks in the room are all free. Meaning, you can eat and drink whatever is inside. So what did they give for free?
2 packs of Bread Pan – with different flavors, 2 bottles of soda, and 2 bottles of beer. No refills even if you stay there for more than a night.
Breakfast buffet
We had the first breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor, since the 1st floor was under construction during our visit. They held the breakfast in the ballrooms, which accommodated more people.
On the second morning, they moved back to the 1st floor (just beside the reception), and I liked the ambiance better there.
Here are a few food I fell in love with:
Balut
Macaron
Chocolate cake — too bad I wasn’t able to take a photo of this. But it was so good!
Surpringly (again!), they were serving balut – fertilized duck egg – during breakfast. And I was very happy to get one, because I can’t remember the last time I had it.
For the dessert, I loved the chocolate cake (during the 1st day), but sadly, it wasn’t available on the second day. To make up for that, I was excited to try the French macarons, and yes, it was added to our favorite food list!

And the answer to the question: Is it worth it to pay the Makati Diamond Residences prices? I like to say that we loved The Alpha Suites better because of the available sports facilities, but I can say that this one’s not bad either.

Another hotel you should try
Apart from Makati Diamond Residences, there are many other hotels you can stay at. And one of the few that’s nearby is The Alpha Suites. Since we haven’t been to others, I can’t really suggest you stay there.
But what I can say is that The Alpha Suites offers a wide range of sports facilities and restaurants that you don’t even have to leave the hotel when you’re there.
