Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu – When people say it’s more fun in the Philippines, they aren’t joking! Because there are so many good places to visit in the Philippines, and one of them is Cebu, where you’ll find Shangri-La Mactan Resort.

Amenities
As a 5-star hotel, Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa really lives up to their name, They have a lot of great amenities to offer, so you’ll surely have a restful day (and even night!). Want to know what to expect when you go there? Wait no more!
Comfy bed
Of course, one of the things to consider when staying at a resort is their bed. And surely, Shangri-La Cebu is one that wants their guests to feel at ease with their comfortable bed.
Bath tub
When the pool’s already closed and you still want to dip in water and think about life, you can just stay in your room and fill the tub with water. Bring bath salts or bubble bath for that more enjoyable experience!
Swimming pool
Shangri-La Mactan’s swimming pool is huge so you’re going to love it. I like that they also have a deeper pool so that if you want to practise your swimming skills, you can!
In the afternoon there are even coaches who dance Zumba so you can also burn some calories while chilling in the pool.
Waterpark
There’s also a mini waterpark where kids can slide and just play with water with gusto!
Beach
Of course, something you shouldn’t miss is Shangri-La Mactan’s beach.
I like that they have very nice chairs for relaxing, and there’s even one with a cover so you’re all protected from the heat of the sun. And the sand is so soft that you can sit there and make a sandcastle with your child.
Fish feeding
And when you’re bored with the usual things to do in beach, you can buy cheap fish food to feed the hungry fishes in the beach. My son enjoyed watching the fishes run after pellets. You’ll notice the large silver fishes surround you if you have fish food, don’t worry cause they don’t bite.
Men and women spa
More relaxation happens here at Shangri-La Mactan because they also have a free spa for men and women. They separate the genders just like in Japanese onsens. Apart from the hot tub, there’s also sauna inside, so make sure to sweat it out to remove all the toxins.
Gym
If you’re a workout-aholic, Shangrila Mactan also offers a wide range of workout equipments for you. Just beside the spa is the gym where you can spend hours building muscle and excreting excess calories you’ve eaten.
Kiddie playground
Of course, since we travel with our son, we love how they have kiddie playgrounds to keep kids busy when they’re done swimming! A soccer goalie and swing is around, plus gigantic chess pieces and a checkerboard is there to use.
Stores and souvenir shop
Some goodies are also found inside Shangri-La Mactan Hotel. There are stores where you can buy things you might need if you forgot them.

Jpark Resort and Waterpark
Just like Solea Mactan Resort, Jpark Resort and Waterpark is one to stay at when you’re traveling with kids. The place is decorated very nicely, even with Pororo casts everywhere, so if your children loves them, I’m sure they’ll also fall in love in Pororo-themed rooms.

Dusit Thani
The first Cebu hotel we stayed at was Dusit Thani. And while it didn’t have as much fanciness as that of Solea and Jpark, it still is a great place to visit with family.
