Ultimate Reasons Why We Keep Coming Back to Forest Lodge

Forest Lodge, Baguio – If it’s too hot in Manila, we go to Baguio to cool. And our favorite hotel to stay? None other than Forest Lodge. Apart from being one of the affordable Baguio places to stay, it also has a very comforting vibe! See what to expect when you go there!

Do take note that the hotel name has now changed to John Hay Hotels Forest Wing!

Disclaimer: Photos were taken before the Forest Lodge became John Hay Hotels Forest Wing. So there could be changes now.

We stayed at Ecohouse Baguio before, too. Learn more here.

Another great Baguio house to stay in is Ecohouse. It’s a house complete with everything you might need — gadgets, game consoles, a fully-equipped kitchen, a water dispenser… Literally everything! Learn more about Ecohouse Baguio here

Forest Lodge Baguio rates

Now known as John Hay Hotels Forest Wing, Forest Lodge is where you can stay without worrying about the price. At an affordable price, you can enjoy a great scenery, a relaxing night, and be at Baguio tourist spots in the blink of an eye!

Starting at PHP 6,400 (USD 104.4), you can have a restful night.

Amenities

We arrived early at Forest Lodge during our visit, so we had to wait for our room to be ready. Thankfully, the lobby was a pleasing sight! And while Forest Lodge doesn’t have air conditioning inside, Baguio provides a cool weather.

So, we waited until we were called. Immediately, we went up after receiving our door key card.

Relaxing bed

As always, Forest Lodge beds are comfortable and very neat. The bedding is newly laid, and we couldn’t help but lie down after a long, tiring journey.

Mini kitchen

On the side, you’ll find a mini kitchen with some coffee and tea packets to keep you hydrated. The snacks do have prices, so if you didn’t bring any, you have to pay for them!

Balcony

We got a balcony this time, and yes, I stayed there most of the time, just enjoying the quiet and relaxing view. I like that the weather is nice, not that hot, unlike in the metro. And then the quietness of the surroundings helps you reset from all your stresses in the real world.

A table and 2 chairs let you forget that you have a lot on your mind. Definitely a perfect place to enjoy a hot cup of coffee!

Welcome drink

This isn’t always the case here at Forest Lodge, but this time, they gave us free welcome drinks to enjoy. You can get them from the bar just beside the reception area.

Garden

One of the best things about Forest Lodge is that it’s connected to the Manor, and we always go there to play. The garden is easily accessible from Forest Lodge’s parking area. And we always go there to enjoy breakfast buffet!

Coffee shop

Of course, a hotel can’t be complete without a coffee shop. Choose among the coffee-blended drinks or tea to pair with the cold weather!

Souvenir shop

At the souvenir shop, not only you can buy keepsakes, but also kids’ activities. So, if you have young children and forgot to bring toys, you can get them here!

When going to Baguio, I’m sure you also want to eat good food! So, below are some of the places I highly recommend! Of course, I made reviews on each one of them so you know which food we liked best!

Cafe by the Ruins

Once caught under fire, Cafe by the Ruins is now rebuilt and better than ever.

I like how homey it feels inside their restaurant, and that the food they serve really brings comfort. Make sure to check out what we ordered here before you go!

Choco-late de Batirol

What used to be tiny space is now enlarged and accommodates more people here at Choco-late de Batirol. Even so, the place gets crowded easily, so head there early to be seated immediately.
