Manmaru Japanese Restaurant – We were looking for somewhere to eat last Sunday, and I suddenly remembered we hadn’t tried Manmaru. And since it was still early at that time, we grabbed the chance of not having to line up there.
So, the secret to not needing to line up for Manmaru Japanese Restaurant is to be there before other people do. And since you’re here, why don’t you check out what we ordered during our visit?
If you’re here for the first time, I’d like to invite you to follow me on my socials – Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok so you’re updated on our recent food, hotel, and travel reviews!
Manmaru Tomas Morato menu
Manmaru menu in Tomas Morato seems to be a bit different compared to the other branch in Makati. While I haven’t tried dining at Manmaru Makati branch, I saw online that they have other food on the menu that Manmaru QC doesn’t have.

Apart from that, they also have a different name – in Makati, it’s called Manmaru Izakaya – so, you might want to check both branches to see which one’s your bet. But before that, below are the dishes we ordered from the Manmaru menu QC.
Yakiudon

When the Manmaru yakiudon arrived, I instantly traveled back to the time when I first started loving yakiudon! Over 10 years ago (don’t ask my age!), I first tried it in our university campus at the carpark area, where there was some good food.
And when I tried it, they had the similar taste, so I smiled as I ate the udon one strip at a time. Because I knew that the menu they had back then was the same as that of a Japanese restaurant in Tomas Morato.
Manmaru Roll
The staff told us that the most sold maki they offer is the Manmaru Roll, so we believed her, and ordered it.
And it was only a few minutes of waiting when it arrived. We were reminded by the one we ordered before – containing california maki topped with raw salmon salad and plentiful sliced mangoes above.

And then there were drizzles of mayo and spicy mayo. So, if you’re not a fan of spicy food, then I think you shouldn’t order this one.
But, for me, who’s a spicy lover, I liked it, since the sweetness of the mangoes balances the spicyness of the spicy sauce and salmon. Add to that, the maki wasn’t full of rice, so it’s definitely a win win!
Tempura

Five large pieces of shrimp tempura stand gracefully on the black plate, and my son loved it!
Just like typical tempura we usually order in other Japanese restaurants, Manmaru’s version is one we also recommend. Make sure to try it out too!
Gyoza
Another staple on our menu is gyoza.

We love how the meat is encapsulated in the thin gyoza wrapper and then dipped in the tangy sauce. We once tried a gyoza that tasted a bit burnt, thankfully, Manmaru’s aren’t.
Chicken Karaage
Have you ever tried fried chicken with genuine tori karaage taste? Because Manmaru knows how to make it just like the ones in Japan! However, the only thing unappetizing to my son is the dipping sauce.

Usually, chicken karaage is dipped in a Japanese mayo, but some legit Japanese restaurants (like Yayoi) include a tartar sauce, which my son didn’t like.
So, there you have it. Did you enjoy my Manmaru Japanese Restaurant photos? I did my best to capture them nicely so the one reading this (that’s you!) would immediately go there and line up to fill their hungry stomachs!

Mammaru Japanese Restaurant branches
Currently, there are only 2 Manmaru branches in Manila – Tomas Morato and Makati. However, I think the menu for both branches are different – given that their names also differ. Nonetheless, we loved the dishes at Tomas Morato branch, so we’ll not think twice about trying the Makati branch.

Manmaru Japanese Restaurant reviews conclusion
So what can I say? I’d say the Manmaru menu prices are worth it, and if you want to try other food, go ahead, because I believe that you’ll love them as much as we did. There aren’t many Manmaru reviews out there, so I hope that this post has helped you decide whether you should give it a try or not.

More Japanese restaurants (Quezon City)
We love Japanese cuisine! Apart from not being too oily most of the time, the dishes are mostly very easy to love and they have a lot of different variants to choose from! Not only that, but I’m sure kids of all ages won’t have a hard time choosing what to eat.
Below are some Japanese restaurants we frequent, so if you’re not up to trying Manmaru Japanese Restaurant, or you want to try another, then you should check them out!
Tomo Japanese Dining
One of the Quezon City Japanese restaurants we frequent is Tomo Japanese Dining. However, do take note that you have to either reserve in advance or be there during off peak hours to be seated.
Read my review here.
Omakase
Omakase is another one we like because of the great dishes it offers. It’s famous for makis – and they have a lot! So the next time you pass by one, you should try it out!
Oedo
One more that needs no mentioning is Oedo Japanese Restaurant. It’s usually jam-packed, and the food is actually good, but we find it a bit pricy. Still, if you’re into checking out new restaurants, it’s a great place to dine.
