Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, Hong Kong – After enjoying our stay at the Disney Explorer’s Lodge HK in 2023, we wanted to check out and see if Disney Hollywood Hotel is at par. And yeah, all I can say is that Disney doesn’t fail when it comes to quality!

Hotels near Hong Kong Disneyland
There are many hotels near HK Disneyland, but of course, you might be curious as to how it feels staying at a Disneyland HK hotel. Just like us, you want to know everything you can expect before clicking that book button – I know you want value for money.

What to expect
I’m sure you’re excited to see Disney’s Hollywood Hotel photos we captured. And while I did my best to take everything that you need to see, I dunno if I still missed some parts because this Disney hotel was actually quite huge.
Here are some of the things to expect when you stay at Disney Hollywood Hotel.
Hollywood-themed room
First thing’s first – the theme of rooms is definitely Hollywood.
Of course, as the name implies, you’re going to be inside a room that’s decorated with hollywood films plus Disney. And yes, we loved every bit of it.
Cute slippers
You’re not gonna get just the usual white room slippers, but a unique one when you’re staying at a Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel.
Here at Hollywood Hotel, you’ll get nice maroon-colored slippers with, of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse embroidered on them. And the best part? They also have mini slippers for your kids!
The Explorer’s Lodge slippers during our visit only had a white design with Mickey print. Dunno if they changed it already — because 2 years had already past.
Good service
We encountered one problem during our stay at Disneyland Hong Kong Hollywood Hotel.
The faucet suddenly fell off – literally, and hubby called for me to help him turn off the faucet. We called the service, and they happily helped us. Surprisingly, the staff were friendlier compared to other people.
Thankfully, it was okay after they fastened some of the loose screws. And everything else went well.
Discount vouchers
Just like in Disney’s Explorer’s Lodge, we also got discount vouchers here in Hollywood Hotel. But there’s an additional dining voucher discount if you’re going to eat inside the Disney hotel.
I haven’t noticed before, but this one’s got expiry dates, so better to use it if you’re planning on shopping for some Disney goodies.
What I did was to check inside the hotel shop first before going to Disneyland Park. This way, I know if there’s something I like, and could get discount even though our time at the Disneyland theme park was finished.
Do take note that you could get discount vouchers when going into the park in the morning. And you could use it to buy merch when you checkout before 12 NN. Scored a great deal there!
Did you know?
You can save a lot when you get the Dining vouchers at Disneyland Park? We were skeptic at first, but the voucher included a snack and it was one of the best things to do when you’re with a child who’s always hungry!
Swimming pool
When going to Disneyland Hotels, you can swim in their pool, provided the weather’s hot. If you’re going there during winter, around November to March, take note that the pools are closed.
So better to check with the hotel first so you know if you need to bring swimwear, or they might just eat up space in your luggage.
Vintage cars on display
During our first stay at Explorer’s Lodge, we walked around to see the other parts of the Disneyland Hotel. And we saw some vintage cars on display in the Hollywood Hotel part.
And for someone who knows very little about cars, I was already fascinated by the scene. So, I’m sure, any car fanatic would love to have their pictures taken when inside Hollywood Hotel.
Playground
Kids will always be kids, and you know how much energy they have!
And it was a blessing to have a playground in the hotel, because there’s so much energy kids need to burn. But the best part is that they’re totally free!
NOTE: Make sure to spray mosquito repellent before walking outside the hotel. (You can see them right outside the door to remind you to spray to protect you from the sand mites.)
Fun activities for kids (and kids at heart!)
It’s always fun to do crafts and activities with kids, especially if you didn’t experience it growing up.
Here at Disneyland hotel, you have the chance to bond with your child, because they will also give you a kit to do with your child. And while we weren’t able to do all, it was a nice bonding experience because we did them before checking out!
Best of all, they’re FREE!
One was even Chinese New Year theme because it was nearing the festive season. So, you’re sure to make different types when you go back again in the future!
Free shuttle
Disneyland Hollywood Hotel to Disneyland distance isn’t that far, but you can always ride their free shuttle to get there easily. Just look for the shuttle stop outside the hotel, and the driver would gladly bring you there.
Best of all, you can also check the 2 other Disney hotels with their free shuttle service. Nonetheless, if you’re adventurous, you can also walk to each hotel, because they’re just side by side.
Disney’s Hollywood Hotel reviews conclusion
You might think that Disney’s Hollywood Hotel isn’t on the same level as Explorer’s Lodge and Disneyland Hotel. But, actually, they are just 3 hotels with different themes, and you know how Disney prioritizes quality – so while this hotel is the cheaper among the 3, you’re still getting the best!

Disney Explorer’s Lodge Hong Kong
If you don’t prefer the Hollywood theme, you can stay at the Explorer’s Lodge instead.
This was our first choice because we have a son (thankfully!) and we loved every bit of the place. I like that Disney was thoughtful enough to make hotels that don’t cater only to little girls.
