Chinese Kung Fu Dim Sum Kennedy Town menu

For me, the Kung Fu Dim Sum Kennedy Town price isn’t that affordable. However, since we went there during off peak hours, we got the chance to try good food at a discounted price.

We didn’t know about it until when we got there.

But I want to share how our experience went, having been able to score great deals in Hong Kong. It was about 4:30 PM when we placed our orders, and this Kung Fu Dim Sum, Hong Kong, branch wasn’t that crowded.

But what made us push through was seeing that they had discounted prices.

The staff gave us a paper menu to write the number of our orders, and she would ask you what type of tea you want. Mind you, you have to pay for it, each person was HKD 5.6 (43.42 PHP or 0.71 USD), which is also discounted since the original price is HKD 7 (54.27 PHP or 0.89 USD).

The staff will let you choose what type of tea you want – which is HKD 7 (54.27 PHP or 0.89 USD).

Then again, you can have free refills of tea during your stay, so it’s still a win. Want to know more about Hong Kong travel tips for firsttimers? Check here

What we ordered

Almost all the dimsums we know are on the Kung Fu Dim Sum price menu. So, technically, if you frequent dim sum houses, you’ll already have an idea what to order, especially if you already have your favorites.

We ordered the ones we usually do, to see and compare if the ones we’re having were actually legit Hong Kong dimsums.

Our favorites are siumai, beef ball, radish cake, chicken feet, and beancurd roll. And they taste almost like the ones we eat here in the Philippines.

We were surprised by what’s included in the beancurd roll, because it had fish maw (swim bladder) which are good collagen sources, so if you want to have that young looking skin, you should give it a try!

Kung Fu Dim Sum didn’t have radish cake, instead, they have taro cake, which is a great substitute. The taro have a sweeter taste than radish, and tastes perfectly well when fried – with the outer part crunchy and soft on the inside.

We added some more dishes like steamed minced pork and preserved sausage with rice. My son loved every bit of this rice dish. Topped with sweet soy sauce, the minced pork pot rice was very juicy and my son loved the tasty preserved sausages as well.

The garlic shrimp roll is another different dish from our usual.

This dish came with a sweet sauce to add more flavor to the garlic shrimp filling. You couldn’t go wrong with a fried roll, because the crunchy lumpia wrapper gives more sensation inside your mouth.

Yet another dish not to miss in the legit Hong Kong dim sum menu is the steamed rice roll. There’s many different fillings to choose from, but we got the shrimp and chinese chives. Chewy and bland, the steamed rice rolls are a great way to cleanse your palate off the grease in most dim sum dishes.

I wasn’t really that impressed with the food we had at Bolton Cafe, probably just not our type.

But I recommend this place because of the pleasing aesthetic they have. You’ll be transported into the old times when you enter this Bolton Cafe, and you can’t help but take lots of pictures and stay for quite a while.
