JR West Group Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho getting there
Before booking a hotel, one of the things that we look for are those hotels near train stations. No matter what type of train station, as long as we don’t have to drag our luggages by the end of our trip, we’re gonna book that hotel as long as it’s within our budget.
And I can assure you that Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho is one of those Nagoya hotels near Nagoya station.
Once you reach Nagoya station, all you have to do is to find Taikodori Exit, and you’ll be in resting in no time! But how do you get to that exit?
If you’ve been to Nagoya station in the past, I’m sure you’re aware of the famous Gold Clock, because it’s one of Nagoya tourist spot to visit. Opposite of that, you’ll see the Silver Clock, but mind you, you have to walk a little bit to get to the silver.

Nonetheless, it’s just a straight path, so it’ll be hard to get lost.
From Taikodori Exit, you just have to walk about 4 to 10 minutes (depending on your speed) to get to JR West Group Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho.
JR West Group Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho address: 9-13, Tsukibacho, Nakamura-Ku in Nagoya.
Amenities
Just like most Japan hotels during our most recent visit, Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho is also equipped with complete amenities. But you won’t find them in rooms, instead, you can get them ready on the lobby, near the reception area.
All the consumables are already there, and you just have to get what you need during your stay.
Coffee, tea, skin care, etc.

Apart from the typical coffee, tea, comb, and toothbrush, Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho also have body towel and a skin care station.
I’m very happy that Japan hotels also provide skin care for us so that we don’t have to bring large bottles of beauty products to maintain our youthful glow. They have makeup remover, facial cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.

And they all come in single use sachet (but I use them twice or even thrice sometimes).
Laundry, ice and vendo machine
You don’t have to worry about not having anything to drink when you suddenly get thirsty in the middle of the night here. Because, you just have to go to the vendo machine and choose which one’s to your liking.

But the best part of it, is that you can make your drink colder with the ice machine provided beside the drink dispenser. Now, isn’t that the nicest?
Another thing not to worry about if you brought few clothes only, since you can just wash and wear them in the coin-operated laundry machine on the same floor as the vendo machine.
Separated toilet and bathing area

Something to be proud of about Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho is their toilet because it is separated from the bathtub/shower area! And it’s nice because you can take a shower while one of you relieves themselves.

Room size
I’m sure you’re not into large rooms when visiting Japan, unless you’re willing to spend quite a few more than most travelers like us. But with Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho, we got a 19 square meter room, which is fairly big enough, compared to other rooms.

Kids amenities
Other than having great amenities for adults, Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho also have special toiletry set for kids. It’s not our first time experiencing this – we also got one in Richmond Hotel Fukuoka Tenjin!
So what’s included in this kids amenities kit?

A pair of bedroom slippers, kiddie toothbrush and toothpaste, a cute dolphin sponge, and a mini rubber duckie – which will surely make any child happy!
Breakfast buffet
We don’t usually book Japan hotels with breakfast. But it was actually a wise decision to get the room with breakfast buffet here in Via Inn Nagoya hotel.

With the very limited space, you might think you won’t get so much, but there’s so much to eat in this cramped space. While the seats are quite limited, you don’t have to worry that much, because the guests just come and go.

Most of the Japanese people who dined there just grabbed a tray and put everything they’re going to eat in one go. When they’re done, they leave almost instantly.

Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho’s breakfast buffet includes salad, soups, noodles, and of course, rice. If there are rice, they have viands like egg, balls, tonkatsu, fish, ham, and vegetable. For drinks, they have a lot as well, like coffee, tea, chocolate, and milk. Perfect to start your day!
2 Via Inn Nagoya

You have to take note that there are 2 JR West Via Inn Nagoya hotels in Nagoya. One is Ekimae Tsukibacho, and the other is called Shinkansenguchi. Apparently, these 2 only differ a little, so you could actually choose one over the other.
JR West Group Via Inn Nagoya Ekimae Tsukibacho reviews conclusion
If you’re looking for Nagoya hotels near train station, you might want to consider Via Inn Nagoya (either of the 2 branches are okay, I think) since they’re both very near one another. So, if one is already fully booked on your travel dates, you can check the other branch for availability.

When visiting Nagoya, the Gold Clock is one of the places you shouldn’t miss. Why? Because it’s one of the famous Nagoya spots – where you can use as a meet up location with your family and friends.

Do take note that there’s a silver clock at the opposite end (which is nearer to both Via Inn Nagoya Hotels), so you can conveniently go from one place to another.

Walk 15 minutes from Via Inn Hotel and you’ll be able to see the Nagoya Castle. Of course, while most castles in Japan lookalike, I’m sure you’re still just as excited as me to go check them one after another!

Toyota Commemorative Museum
If you’re still hyped with energy after that visit to Nagoya Castle, I invite you to walk another 15 minutes from Nagoya station to get to Toyota Commemorative Museum.
Not really a fan of cars, I was fascinated with the other parts of the museum. The first part was the introduction to how Toyota started as a car manufacturer. But more about that on a separate blog post, so be sure to follow me on my socials to be updated on my future posts!
You know what? You can visit Toyota Commemorative Museum, Noritake Museum, an experience of the Edo-Period life in Shikemichi district, and marvel at the beauty of Nagoya from Sky Promenade when you book this 1-day tour!
Nagoya City Science Museum

Isn’t it obvious how we love visiting museums?
Yes, Nagoya City Science Museum is one of the places you ought to visit if you fancy science things. Apart from running away from so much heat, we love seeing and learning new things, so we find the most suitable museums for us and our kid.
I’ll write a separate post about our experience here at Nagoya City Science Museum! So, stay tuned!
Noritake Museum
I have to admit, I was really tempted to go to Noritake Museum. However, if you’re familiar with the brand, you’ll know that what you’ll see are breakable plates, bowls, and the likes. But since I was afraid I might want to buy a thing or two home, I resisted the urge, and decided not to include it in our Nagoya itinerary.

Oasis 21

More than just a light display, Oasis 21 showcases a lot for visitors and even locals. After opening in 2002, this 3D park also offers a glass roof, where you can enjoy a relaxing day or night.
There are also stores where you can buy cute stuff below the famous display. Make sure to check it out when you’re in Nagoya!
