Last night, I attended my colleague’s wedding. They were together since their high school days. To date, they are 14 years of being togetherness. In this kind of happenings is what makes you believe that forever really exists. That through the years, no matter who they met, whatever hurdle they encountered, they managed to stay together and make God the center of their relationship.
Kids these days around 12 to 17 years old get themselves involve into relationships and then break up once they face problems. They think that being in a boy-girl relationship is only just like that. Some of them even get married at a young age to get away from their current problems, not knowing that marrying someone is not as easy as how they see them in movies. Then when they get troubled, filing for annulment (divorce is not legal in our country) is their solution. They don’t realize how God has made marriage to be a sacred vow, wherein two hearts and body become one. Meaning that a man will marry a woman and be one flesh and be together forever, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, and til death do them apart. As what is written in the bible in Matthew 19:6 – “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Meaning, not even the mother nor the father nor anyone else in the world shall separate what God has bound together.
I hope that teenagers think twice about getting married young, and hope that parents would share to their children the right ways God has wanted us to be. Let His words guide each and everyone that no matter what happens, everything will fall in it’s right order, as long as you pray and believe in Him.
