Richer Without Money

Money makes the world go round.

Yes they do. You can’t buy food and clothes without money. You cannot ride public utility vehicle nor reload gasoline without money. No water (that’s potable) and electricity for you if you do not have money. You cannot do shopping without money. Who would not love money? If one is rich, they can have all material things that they want to own. From high end gadgets to jewelries to sport’s cars- everything that they wish can be bought (maybe even better than meeting a genie from a lamp). Travelling around the world is only possible with cash.

But how is it that most of the rich people do not seem happy? Their physical appearance seem happy but are they really enjoying their life? Do they make the most of what they want? They would spend millions of their money but in truth, none of their pennies give them real happiness.

How then can a person be truly happy? The bible writes that: “Those who have been blessed with wealth must share generously with the poor (Matthew 25:31-46)”. God wants us to share our blessings to those needy. Loving money more than our God will prevent us from entering His kingdom. It is so true that money is the root of all evil, because even brothers and sisters fight because of money, husbands and wives also argue because of money, and even friendships are broken because of money. This is not what God wants us to experience. He wants us to let go of the greed for money. Because when we die, these material things we cannot bring with us.

“No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (NLT, Luke 16:13)

Which one will you choose? Choose money to be happy in a short period of time, or go to God to be happy for a lifetime? 😊

  1. I like the intention of your post as the root of most evil is the love of money. But God does not say that those who are rich will not enter heaven. He says it will be extremely hard. See Matthew 19:24. Most times those who are financially rich put their trust in their finances making it hard for them to trust God. Often they do not recognize their spiritual poverty and need for God which also makes it hard for them to enter heaven. Those who do not accept Jesus as their Savior will not enter God’s kingdom.
