Green GSM Taxi – Hubby told me that there’s a new green taxi that we can ride for commute, and I knew we had to try it out. So here’s what I learned during my first Green GSM Taxi ride, and what you should know too, before booking your first ride.

Green GSM (Philippines)
You might be wondering why it’s called Green GSM. And yes, I wondered too.
Using the acronym for the words Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company, Green GSM taxis are the newest public utility vehicle in the Philippines that utilizes electricity to run. That means you’re helping the Mother Earth when you ride Green GSM taxi.
VinFast Car

I’m not that good with cars, but when I saw the Green GSM taxi’s logo, I immediately knew it isn’t one of the famous car brands in the Philippines. The Green GSM Taxi driver that we rode on said that their cars come from Vietnam.
I tried searching and learned that their cars are called VinFast cars.
VinFast Nerio Green electric vehicles (EV) have zero-emission rides and have Secure to Safe (S2S) active safety system. The main aim of the Green GSM Taxi owner is to ensure that everyone, including children, women, and the elderly, has a worry-free commute.
How to book Green Taxis (Philippines)

If you’re planning to book Green GSM Taxi, make sure that you’ve already downloaded the Green GSM Taxi app on your phone or tablet.
Register and that’s it. You’re all set.
When I was going to book, that was the time I registered, and thankfully, the process was very fast. (But, don’t be like me. Download and register beforehand to avoid any inconveniences!)
Green GSM Taxi payment method

Currently, Green GSM Taxi allows payment via Paymaya, credit card, or cash. I haven’t tried linking Paymaya and credit card yet, so I just paid with cash instead. If you can, link any of the payment method for a smoother cashless transaction.
Advanced booking is allowed
If you need to go somewhere and plan to use Green GSM Taxi and you want to plan ahead, you can book with them in advance. The driver we rode on said you can call the hotline found in the Green GSM app so you can secure a ride easily on your target date.
Green GSM Taxi operating hours
Unlike other taxis and Grab, Green GSM Taxi currently operates from 4 AM until 10 PM only. So manage your expectations when booking with them. I’m not sure, though, when they’ll start operating 24/7, but maybe we’ll just have to wait and expect it to happen in the next few months?
Want to book for 2 stops?

While booking, I saw on the Green GSM app that you can include 2 stops for your trip. However, after adding 2 stops, a notification appeared saying the booking isn’t supported.

I dunno if that was just error on the app, or maybe they haven’t allowed it yet?
Our experience
The first time hubby tried to book a Green GSM Taxi was 9 days after its launch. He wanted to try and see how good it is. However, after so many attempts, the booking kept getting cancelled – saying no drivers were found.

On our second attempt, we waited for about 20 minutes, and I wasn’t expecting much since I knew it was still new. But lo and behold, I was shocked to see that a Green GSM Taxi was finally heading our way.

But before booking Green Taxi, I checked its price difference with Grab. And they differ by almost 100 Php (1.76 USD), so I booked to see and feel how different the Green Taxi is from the ordinary taxi.
We waited and waited until a Green Taxi finally appeared on the road. The driver gladly helped us load our things into the car, and then we immediately hopped onto the Green car.
I opened the door and saw the fresh and clean seats, looking brand new. I dunno how many passengers have already ridden his taxi, but I sure hope that all Green GSM Taxi drivers maintain the cleanliness of their taxis.

And then I saw the meter in front, and I watched it closely to check and try to estimate how much it would cost us to reach our destination. Because even before booking, I already saw that the estimated amount would be from 261 to 326 Php (5.48 to 5.72 USD).

After experiencing unjudged metered system of ordinary taxis in the past, I earnestly prayed that the meter wouldn’t be like what I encountered. And when we reached our destination, I checked the meter, and it was about the same as the estimate = 321 Php (5.63 USD).

We traveled 14.2 kilometers for the price of 321 Php (which I think is fair enough since the price on Grab that time was 440 Php = 7.76 USD), so you may have an idea about the fare to expect should you decide to use Green GSM Taxi for your commute.
Green GSM Taxi reviews Philippines conclusion
So, what’s our overall Green GSM car brand experience?
It was nice that the taxis are clean (and hopefully they’re well maintained in the future) and that the meter is connected to the company’s system – so you’re less likely to be scammed – I hope!
Moving forward, they’d be more Vinfast Green GSM taxi reviews, but I hope that my review is a great start, so commuters like you would have more options when you want a safe and convenient travel.
