Aureo Hotel and Resort, La Union – La Union is one of those places to visit in the Philippines where you’ll find lots of great beaches. Its capital city, San Fernando, is where the Aureo Resort La Union address is found.

Affordable beach resort in La Union with swimming pool
The Philippines has so much to offer and one of its best offers are beaches with swimming pools. Included in the list of La Union hotels beachfront is Aureo Hotel and Resort. About 4-hour drive from Metro Manila, you’ll be enjoying a serene and relaxing time at Aureo Hotel, La Union.
It wasn’t that crowded when we went there. And there was an ample parking space for guests who bring cars and a very spacious lobby if you’re traveling with a large group. We’ve stayed on both sides of the hotel, but they didn’t differ that much.

Welcome gift
Upon entering the hotel room, you’ll be greeted with a welcome gift to ensure that you feel the owner’s warm welcome. They offer banana slice and chocolate chip cookies in a rattan basket along with a welcome note.
Chocolate chip cookies
Hubby was delighted with the free chocolate chip cookies we found in the room. He and our friend even bought some packs home, which are available in the restaurant Salt and Sea, the one that’s the nearest to the swimming pool.
Banana bread
The banana bread is another thing to die for. My son loved the free loaf slice – and he even reserved the other slice for his snack on our way home. Not sure, though, if they also sell it in the restaurant.

Aureo Resort, San Fernando, La Union, wants to ensure that guests will have a relaxing time without worrying about anything. They included everything you might need during your stay.
Toiletries
Of course, a relaxing staycation can’t be complete without toiletries and the likes. Inside the room, you’ll find bottle of conditioning shampoo and shower gel. There’s even a lotion to moisturize your skin after cleansing them off purities.
However, you might want to bring a hair conditioner with you even though the shampoo says it’s conditioning. You know what the experts say, better to apply your skincare separately – and I couldn’t agree more.
Tea and coffee
The usual tea and coffee packets are included in each room. There’s also a liter of insulated tumbler inside the room which is a wise decision instead of providing disposable water bottles in each room.
Water dispenser for refilling
And when you finished your water and want some more, no need to call the housekeeping, because you can refill your water jug from the dispenser located in the hallway.

Balcony
One of the things you wouldn’t regret about paying the Aureo La Union Resort price is having the balcony with an excellent view of the pool. But, mind you, not all rooms have this view, since the second time we went back, we had the parking lot view instead.
The time we had the river pool view was when we booked the Deluxe room, so you might want to ask the hotel about this if you want the same view as we had.
Deluxe Room vs Superior Room
We went to Aureo San Fernando La Union twice already (now, do you believe we like it?), and we tried both the deluxe and superior rooms.
Where do they differ?
Based on our experience, both have the same ambiance, bathroom styles, and even the balcony (except the view). What’s different is the type of bed we got. For the deluxe room, we got only 1 king bed while with the superior room, we got 2 double beds.

I’m not sure if all hotels in La Union near the beach have pools, but all I’m sure of is that you can get both at Aureo Hotel and Resort. If you love the beach but also have children who only want swimming in the pool, you wouldn’t have problems since you can have them both here.
2 swimming pools with slides
There are 2 swimming pools with slides in La Union Aureo Hotel.
One is an adult pool that’s 4-feet deep, and another is a kiddie pool. I saw some adults sliding down in the kiddie pool, so if you’re afraid of deeper water, you can also enjoy the kiddie pool.
River pool
For me, one of the highlights of Aureo Hotel and Resort is the river pool. My son was overjoyed when he learned we were going back since he loved the river pool, especially the strong current that’s pushing the water (and the people).
We spent most of our time there, and you won’t get sunburned when you’re swimming there.

Aureo Hotel Breakfast
Here’s where your breakfast buffet at Aureo Hotel is held. Do take note that it’s a bit of a walk from the hotel rooms, so you’d want to wake up a little early if you want to choose your favorite seats. The place tend to get crowded as the morning progresses, so you know what to do.
However, most people just come and go, so it’s not a hassle to find seats in case you wake up a littlelate.

Although not having a white sand, Aureo beach also is something you’d want to spend your time with. I liked that they have clear waters, so it was a great idea to spend some sun time at the beach, even though my son wasn’t fond of it.
NOTE: The waves at most La Union beaches are more often strong, and that you might get flown away.
Aureo Restaurant (Salt + Sea)
Swimming makes you hungry, but don’t fret, because you can buy great food at the restaurant just beside the swimming pool. Salt + Sea offers great dishes that are comforting, so you can continue enjoying your staycation while filling your hungry stomach.

We’re in luck because while finding hotels in La Union with pools isn’t that hard, we knew we found a great spot in Aureo Hotel and Resort. And most of the La Union hotels have only one pool, but this La Union Hotel Resort has more than one!

Looking for an affordable beach resort? La Union has a lot of convenient locations on the beachfront. There’s even a resort with a surf school, so you can learn while you rest in Elyu.
Awesome Hotel
Another La Union Hotel with pool that we stayed at is Awesome Hotel. Although not as extensive as Aureo Hotel and Resort, Awesome Hotel is also another great place to stay at if you haven’t yet.
During our visit, they were under renovation, so I’m not really sure how much they’ve changed since our visit. But to get an idea, here’s my Awesome Hotel review.
