The Last Minute Reservation at Rokubee Yakiniku Was Totally Worth It!!!

Rokubee Yakiniku Takayama – Hida beef Takayama is one of the types of beef that you should try because I like it even better than wagyu. The tender and tasty meat didn’t stop us from munching one piece after the other!

During our stay at Mercure Hida Takayama, we found a great place to have unlimited yakiniku. And while you may have to walk a little bit far to get to the hida beef restaurant (Takayama), all I can say is that it was totally worth it!

Mercure Hida Takayama is a great place to stay!

Best of all, there aren’t many customers during our visit, probably because it was a lunch on a weekday. We went to its website to secure our seats, so better be prepared in case there are many bookings on the day you’re going to eat.

If you’re here for the first time, I’d like to invite you to follow me on my socials –Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok so you’re updated on our recent food, hotel, and travel reviews!

Rokubee Yakiniku price

There’s a lot to choose from from the Rokubee Yakiniku menu. I was surprised to find 5 different courses, but don’t be afraid to ask the staff about their menu, because he was able to explain it fairly understandable to us when asked about it.

We chose the mid range unlimited course, and it was a wise choice. We got a great experience because of the just right amount of meat types, but it wasn’t that limited to the cheaper ones.

28 all-you-can-eat meat (mostly Hida beef)

I can’t imagine how sad our lives would be had we not found this unlimited yakiniku Takayama has. Consisting of 28 types of meat, this 3,600 JPY (1,354.53 PHP or 23.41 USD) course is enough to keep you full all day. Thankfully, there weren’t many customers during our visit because we could only order for 50 minutes.

You won’t believe how much meat type you can get from the highest breed of Japanese black cattle in Gifu. So, we knew we were blessed to be able to find this rare gem!

13 meat types on your first plate

On your first order, you get to try 13 different meat types, and after that, you can order the ones that made you happy. Apparently, it was a bit hard to distinguish most meats because most of them are yummy and tender.

Make sure to take note of the ones you like best so you can order them again when you’re done with your first order at Rokubee Yakiniku Takayama.

Side dishes

Among the side dishes, what we liked best are kimchi, sausage, lettuce, and nori (seaweed). But you can also order salads, edamame, and vegetables for grilling.

Sauces

A yakiniku can’t be complete without the yummy sauces built for adding flavor to your grilled meat. On the table, you’ll find a sweet sauce, a spicy sauce, lemon juice, salt and pepper, and togarashi (chili powder), so go ahead and spread what you want to add to your meat.

Unlimited drinks

Eating the grilled meat one after another makes you want to consume a sweet glass of softdrinks or juice. But you can also go for oolong tea or plain water for a healthier choice at Rokubee Yakiniku. And don’t worry about getting lost in all those Japanese words, because Rokubee Yakiniku gives you a chance to read them in English.

FREE mini ice cream

There’s a sundae you can purchase if you want to have unlimited ice cream for dessert. But since we didn’t order it, the staff eventually gave us bite-sized ice cream – with chocolate and almond flavor to cleanse our palate.

Rokubee Yakiniku review conclusion

It might be intimidating to try something where there are no one eating. But we went for Rokubee Yakiniku Takayama still as planned, and guess what, we won’t think twice about going back since we loved the food there.

Places to visit when in Takayama

We didn’t stay long enough in Takayama for me to have many foodventures. So, what I would like to share instead are the places we believe would make you fall in love (just like we did!). So, here goes some of the best places to visit when you plan to visit Takayama (the first 2 are actually side trips).

Tateyama Alpine Route

tateyama alpine route
There’s a lot more to see when in Tateyama Alpine Route, and the route itself is just as enjoyable as the scenery!

Who would’ve thought that riding a series of rides – that includes a train, highland bus, cable car, trolley bus, ropeway, electric bus – is enjoyable? Apart from that, you’ll surely enjoy the greeneries you’re going to pass by along the way.

Make sure to read about my Tateyama Alpine Route review here before you go!

Kurobe Gorge Railway

An hour of exciting train ride awaits you at Kurobe Gorge Railway.

While I was researching about Tateyama Alpine Route, hubby kept telling me if we could include Kurobe Gorge Railway into our Nagoya itinerary. And I got confused because I also see the term Kurobe in Tateyama Alpine Route, so I researched some more, and found they were totally different.

Don’t be confused, read my review here to know more.

Hida Furukawa

your name, hida furukawa
Can’t get enough of this braided bracelet — inspired by “Your Name”!

Did you also watch the animation “Your Name”? Then you must know that there are places in Japan you can visit which will remind you of some of the spots inspired in the anime. Know where you can find some of the places in Hida Furukawa here

Takayama Old Town

takayama, old town, shirakawa go, unesco world heritage

The even famous Old Town in Takayama is buzzling with so many people you’d have a hard time finding great empty spots. However, it’s one of Takayama tourist spots, so I bet you’d love to visit it as well.

And, if you like to visit another great spot, and that’s even a UNESCO World Heritage, you should check out Shirakawa Go as well.

The Shirakawa Go houses are nice to look at no matter what season of the year!
