10 Things to do in Gold Coast for family
Traveling to Australia (Gold Coast) with family is one of the best things you can do. Because there’s so much to do here that’s not like in Sydney and Melbourne. Gold Coast might be the least popular place (as far as I know here in our country), but there are many things to do here that you shouldn’t miss.

Yatala Pies
Okay, Yatala Pies isn’t really a part of Gold Coast, but I added it here in case you’ll be coming from Brisbane. Because before arriving Gold Coast, this is a great place to stop by for a quick breakfast or a satisfying lunch.
Why?
You can order many different types of pies there. From savory types to sweet pies, they have it all! So, I’m sure you’ll find something that you’re craving for when you go there.

Warner Bros Movie World
From the name itself, Warner Bros Movie World has its rides named after the different characters of DC comics – with the most famous ones, Batman and Superman. They have thrilling rides, so this is a must if you’re an adventurous person!
When booking tickets, you can book Warner Bros Movie World along with Wet ‘n Wild, Sea World, and Paradise Country – which you can get at a discounted price.
Dream World (Australia)
If Warner Bros Movie World is all about Hollywood, Dream World has a mix of classic to wildlife-themed rides. We planned on visiting Warner Bros Movie World, but since it was raining when we visited, we didn’t push through.
On the way to Warner Bros, we passed by Dream World as well!
Sea World
When you want more than rides, you can choose to go to Sea World instead. And as a young family, we’d probably visit Sea World since there are more learnings for our kid here. In here, you can enjoy different animal encounters (but you have to pay a fee), so this is better if you have young kids traveling with you.
Glow Worm Cave
Another great option is to visit Glow Worm Cave to see the eyes of your young ones lit up (literally!). Because nothing’s more enchanting than seeing the worms glow like candlesticks, without lighting anything!
And when kids of the explorative age see this, I’m sure they’ll be amazed by these special creatures.
Tamborine Gallery Walk
There are so many stores here in Tamborine Gallery Walk, and since we didn’t want to spend so much time here, and it was raining a bit hard, we stopped by some of the stores that sell nice things!
We checked out so much cute stuff in Little Touch of Australia – they have crochet items, 3D printed toys, and some of the good stuff you can bring home for your families and friends. The German Cuckoo Clock Nest had so many collections of grandfather clocks that would surely make you smile! We were even surprised at how much each one costs.
When we got tired, we went to The Monkey Tree Bar and Restaurant. We had coffee and hot chocolate, which added to the relaxation since we were seated al fresco – where you can enjoy nice scenery on that rainy afternoon!
The Spit
We moved on to The Spit, where we saw the tiny lighthouse — it’s actually so cute you’d wonder how it helps the seafarers.
In here, you can bring your dogs for a walk (off-leash), and spend a day picnicking. I like that they offer free parking so you can enjoy the view, surf, or just look at the wonder the nature created without worrying some added expenses.
The Spit was created naturally over thousands of years, creating a peninsula that “spits” out into the seaway.
Currumbine Wildlife Sanctuary
When I hear the word sanctuary, I’m more convinced to visit a certain animal place. Because the main goal of sanctuaries is to protect the wildlife, and by visiting them, I’m helping to conserve these wildlife creatures so that the future generations can see more of them.
So, it’s always better to support these kinds of agenda so that the young can still have something to look forward to next time!
Surfer’s Paradise
Whether you’re a surfer or not, you can find something amusing here at Surfer’s Paradise. There are lots of stores to shop – I almost bought wooden board with nice waves design. Only if it wasn’t that fragile, I would have bought it!
Then, there are also lots of good food to try when you here. We even went to Timezone to play with the kids, and if you love checking out weird things, you should check out Ripley’s Believe it or Not theme park.

Aquaduck
If you have more budget for this trip, better to try Aquaduck. Why? Because you can experience going to the water while riding this Aquaduck car!
We were amazed to see this car go into the water, and you’ll be traveling for an hour with this fascinating ride.
Things to do in Gold Coast review conclusion
So, if you’re looking for Gold Coast places to visit with adults or even kids, you might want to consider going to the places I listed above. We haven’t been able to visit some of the places since we only spent a day – due to the bad weather. So, maybe we can go there the next time we go back!
