McDonald’s Kiddie Crew 2023 – I’ve heard about the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew many times in the past. And I knew I wanted my child to join the workshop. While my son wasn’t fascinated by all the activities done, he sure was hooked on the short classes and told me he wanted to go back again in the future.
In one of the mommy groups I’m at, I saw a post regarding the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew workshop. Many of the mommies there signed their children up because they wanted them to experience the joy of playing and learning at the same time.
I, too, got excited about the idea. However, I was dismayed upon learning that the kiddie crew age is from 5 to 12. So, I decided I’d check the website again next year because that’s when my son turns 5.
However, a few days before the workshop ended, I saw a mommy, who had a slightly younger child than mine, posting on her social media about a day her daughter enjoying her time after joining the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew.
I was like, “Wha–? How come?”
So, without wasting any second, I immediately messaged her asking how she got her daughter to join, knowing her’s was underage.
She then tagged me on the post I’ve seen many times after popping on my newsfeed all the time.
And, as I checked the comments section one after the other, I found that McDonald’s was accepting kids as young as 3! Oh my! I was so late to see that post, and that reply was there a long time ago!
I hurriedly checked the registration link, only to again be dismayed. The link wasn’t working anymore!
My heart sank while blaming myself for not being attentive to the details.
But, just before I beat myself up for being the dumbest mom, the mom I messaged suggested I try to visit the nearest McDonald’s branch and ask if they still have slots because some still accept late enrollees.
So, I checked the participating branches to see where we can visit and finally be able to enroll my son.
Later that evening, I happily told hubby about the good news, that we may still have a chance to let our child join the kiddie crew program. And he was very game about visiting the branches just so we could let our son experience something we weren’t able to.
After dinner, we quickly got dressed and visited the nearest branch, but it said they weren’t participating because they were having a renovation. The crew then suggested we visit another branch which could possibly have joined.
We drove around to the 2nd nearest branch and I was so happy to find the kiddie crew outfit displayed in the store. However, after asking, the crew told me they were done with the registration.
I almost lost hope, but then I remembered another not-too-near branch and messaged the branch directly asking if they still had slots. Lo and behold, I finally received a confirmation saying they’re still accepting enrollees.
Hurrah! I couldn’t explain the happiness I felt when I saw the reply, that I even asked him/her if he/she could save the slot for my child. And he/she happily obliged.
The next day, I did some of my chores and what needed to be done, then got ready to visit the branch to secure my son’s slot. After that, we had lunch in the mall near our home, and my son was very giddy about the sudden change in our usual daily schedule.
McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Philippines
In 1991, McDonalds started launching a summer activity for kids for learning and experiences, which is called McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop. The famous fast food chain aims to help children learn through play.
After stopping for 3 years, the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Philippines is finally back to give more opportunities to children who have been staying at home for the longest time.
McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Sign Up
To sign up, you need to click on the link available on the McDonald’s website and input all the necessary information. Finally, you need to pay the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew price of 849 PHP ( 14.97 USD) to secure a slot for your child.
Each kiddie crew gets a t-shirt, a cap, and a backpack that match the theme set by McDonald’s. For this year, the theme is voyager, so all the accessories have a space-theme drawing in them.
In our case, since we were late to figure out that the kiddie crew age had changed, we personally went to the store and paid to secure the slot.
McDonald’s Kiddie Crew 2023 Schedule
According to the McDonald’s crew, the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew 2023 schedule was dependent on the number of participants in each branch. For branches that have lots of enrollees, they offered the workshop twice a day: the 1st batch: 10 AM to 12 NN, and the 2nd batch: 2 to 4 PM.
For the branch that we got accepted, their kiddie crew schedule was from 2 to 4 PM. And since we didn’t have any other choice, we accepted the schedule even though it’s the same time as my son’s naptime.
Every day, the kids will also have a meal time for a snack. They had burgers, spaghetti, and on the last day, 1-pc chicken with rice.
The kiddie crew workshop run from Monday through Friday and had the Saturday and Sunday following the last batch as the Grand Graduation Days. To be able to attend the Grand Graduation, you need to purchase tickets, one for each of you (if both parents want to attend) and one for your child.
McDonald’s Kiddie Crew 5-Day Workshop
What do you think your child will do in the 5-day workshop in McDonald’s?
Without attending the orientation, I wouldn’t know what to expect in the workshop. But since we also took the time to attend the orientation on the Sunday before the workshop started, the manager gave us a heads-up of what our son would be doing in the next 5 days.
All of the 5 days will start and end in the same way.
The “teacher” will lead a prayer before doing anything. Then, they will do a dance to warm the kids up. The next thing is the activity that the management has set for the kids on each specific day.
And when the kids are back to their seats, it would be meal time. When everyone’s done with their meals, it’d be dance time again with the kiddie crew anthem followed by the closing remarks.
Day 1
On Day 1, the activity of the kiddie crews was a tour inside the McDonald’s kitchen, and learning about the different areas where they make food. And before they let the kids go back, they had them make their very own sundae, with their choice of caramel or chocolate fudge as a topping.
Day 2
On the 2nd day, the teacher taught the kids about hand washing correctly. Then, they brought the kids to greet the dining customers.
Day 3
The 3rd day is what excited my son the most. After handwashing and getting a tour of the different condiments, the kids were tasked to add ice to the cups.
And the best part was making their own cheeseburger!
Day 4
On the 2nd to the last day of the workshop, the kiddie crews were tasked to complete puzzles of treats, like the McDonald’s kiddie meal, sundae, fries, and burger. After that, the teacher had the kids play games to help them relax after the brain-wrecking activity.
And when they were done with the game, the teacher then led them down the stairs to experience punching delivery orders.
Day 5
On the last day, the teacher had games for the kiddie crews and it was finally their graduation. McDonald’s even set up a mini stage and played an actual graduation song as the kids marched one by one with their guardians.
McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Grand Graduation
Going to the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Grand Graduation is not required. But since we want our son to experience the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop wholly, we decided to attend the Grand Graduation Day too.
Thankfully, the ticket was only 180 PHP (3.17 USD), which included a 1-pc McDo chicken and rice, and a bottle of Minute Maid orange juice. Along with the meal, we also got a plastic full of snacks for children.
The Grand Graduation was held in SMX and it was surprising to see how McDonald has prepared the place for children to enjoy the 2 days to the max.
Besides the booths that gave away lots of snacks to the young and young at heart, there was also a large inflatable for children to slide, a face-painting booth, a human claw machine, and some games.
We lined up for the human claw machine for over 1 hour for our toddler’s experience. The funny thing though, was that when it was finally our turn, the staff told us our son was too little (aka too light) to use the claw machine harness.
And we were dumbfounded because we wasted the whole time and not being able to enjoy the game. Thankfully, the staff was kind enough to tell us that hubby could just carry our son to mimic the claw machine.
When we were done with the human claw machine, it was already time to move to the other side to watch the show McDonald’s prepared. However, we left a bit earlier because our son was already grumpy being sleepy.
But we did see Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, and all the McDonald’s cast: Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Birdie, and Hamburglar, before we left. I also heard the kiddie crew anthem “Make It Happen” before we concluded our McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop.
McDonald’s Kiddie Crew 2023 Review Conclusion
I was glad my son enjoyed his 5-day McDonald’s Kiddie Crew 2023 workshop. On the other hand, I, too, enjoyed watching him engage with other people and be able to experience being in a classroom type of workshop.
While I plan to homeschool my son, the workshop gave me a preview of how he would do just in case I enroll him in a traditional school.
Have you experienced joining the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew? How was it? I’d love to hear about your childhood stories in the comment section below!
