Huis Ten Bosch, Japan, is a recreation of the famous Dutch town. The Nagasaki theme park features a Theme Park zone and Harbour Zone. It’s renowned for its beautiful flower displays in every season.

I’m not gonna deny it, but I really was tempted to stay inside one of Huis Ten Bosch hotel, Nagasaki. But of course, we always have to consider the amount we need to pay before booking anything. (Who doesn’t?)
There are 5 official hotels inside Huis Ten Bosch.
- Hotel Europe
- Hotel Amsterdam
- Hotel Den Haag
- Forest Villa
- Hotel Rotterdam
The most prestigious and top of the 5 Huis Ten Bosch hotels is Hotel Europe. Looking at the image, you’ll immediately understand why the Huis Ten Bosch hotel price is like that. It’s perfect for couples who want to enjoy quality time together.
At the heart of the Huis Ten Bosch theme park is Hotel Amsterdam. Families who want to spend their time at the park all day long can stay there.
If a relaxing staycation is what you’re looking for, then stay at Hotel Den Haag. The Oceanfront Hotel boasts a relaxing sea view so all your worries and stresses will surely be gone.
Hotel Den Haag was previously known as Watermark Hotel Nagasaki.
Meanwhile, you can enjoy greenery by the pond if you choose Forest Villa.
Hotel Rotterdam, more commonly known as Henn Na Hotel Huis Ten Bosch before, offers modern artistry and a more playful approach.
Hotel Okura getting there
Traveling to Huis Ten Bosch from Fukuoka is very easy.
We bought a JR Pass – it’s an unlimited ride, so we could enjoy riding JR trains all we want within the specified period. And the Huis Ten Bosch train ride is covered in the unli pass.

Hotel Okura Jr Huis Ten Bosch
We booked superior twin room with park view at Hotel Okura Huis Ten Bosch. The room is very spacious, 28 sq meters, and is good for 4 adults. And the balcony is certainly breathtaking!
But what sets Hotel Okura Jr Huis Ten Bosch from the usual Japan hotels we stayed at, is that it includes breakfast buffet. Although we’ve been to Japan many times, this is the first time we’re gonna have breakfast buffet at the hotel.
Of course, I couldn’t let it pass because there’s a great view outside and surely, the food is gonna be great, because we’re in Japan after all, and in a 5-star Japan hotel at that.
Going back to our room, I love that it has a very relaxing vibe, and that you can also chill and relax while looking out the window.
Relax at the in-house onsen
Another perk of Hotel Okura is the in-house onsen, where you can have your muscles relax as you care less about the people around you. Japanese people don’t care that much about the people, even if they’re naked!
And since we didn’t know if our son would like to go in hot tubs, we just let him stay in the room while the others went to the onsen. Thankfully, there’s the bathtub where he could play with his toy and soak in with the bath ball we bought.
Bath balls are great because they make our son excited about what toy he’s gonna get. Then there’s the colorful effect and the bubbles as the bath balls melt into the tub. No wonder many drugstores sell bath balls of different characters – for boys and girls.
Before I forget, I just want to remind you that if you want to try out onsen for firsttimers, you need to remember that you have to remove everything before going in the water.

A complete set of toiletries are already in the dressing table – toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair brush, facial wash and cream, facial cleansing oil, body wash cloth, hair cap – honestly, you need not bring any of your necessities!
Another thing to take note of, is the different colored toothbrushes they included in the room. They gave us 3 different colored toothbrushes so we couldn’t accidentally use someone else’s dental brush if we forget where we placed them.
They even gave us a children toothbrush – to prevent our son’s tiny teeth from forming cavities!
Hotel Okura Huis Ten Bosch breakfast
The next day, we woke up early to be able to enjoy Hotel Okura breakfast. We have free breakfast for us adults, however, we have to pay for our son’s child breakfast fee. I dunno why though.

The price for Hotel Okura breakfast buffet isn’t very scary, because you can have a discount if you sign up as a member of the hotel. Of course, we did, even though we’re unsure when we’ll be back again to be able to fully maximize the membership.
Nonetheless, we got a bit of a discount, so it’s still a win win.
Don’t be confused about which Hotel Okura restaurant to go to for your breakfast.
During check in, you’ll see a stairs going down that showcases large glass windows with a breathtaking view, and that’s where you’ll be having your breakfast buffet.
So what to expect for the free breakfast buffet?
Since it’s our first time trying out a hotel breakfast buffet, we anticipated a Japanese style approach. And yeah, there were lots of Japanese dishes on the breakfast buffet table – miso soup, katsu, healthy ham and sausages, curry, fresh fruits.
You name it, most of them are healthy dishes, so it’s a bit less guilty to eat more. Of course, there’s castella in the dessert part – since it’s one of the famous pastries in Nagasaki.
But apart from Japanese cuisine, they also have Western style breakfast like cereals, breads, and chicken nuggets.
For the drinks, they have lots of coffee – americano, cafe latte, and cafe mocha – all available in hot or cold. Then, they also have cocoa drink for non coffee drinkers. Of course, teas are also a part of the breakfast menu, and you’ll find lots of different tea leaves and variants.

I wish I could’ve compared how Hotel Okura Manila differs from Hotel Okura Jr Huis Ten Bosch. Sadly, I wasn’t able to check out the one in the Philippines yet. But I know for sure that we’ll check it out in the future.
