7 Fascinating Experiences We Did in TeamLab Forest Fukuoka

TeamLab Forest, Fukuoka – One of the best things to do in Fukuoka when traveling with kids is to visit TeamLab Forest. The virtual experience and learnings inside are great to spend at least half a day.

The first time we visited a TeamLab in Tokyo, we knew we’d do more visits in other TeamLab branches in the future. So, when I learned there’s another one in Fukuoka, I knew I have to include it in our Fukuoka itinerary, especially since the interactive place is great for children and children at heart.

If you’re here for the first time, I’d like to invite you to follow me on my socials – Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok so you’re updated on our recent food, hotel, and travel reviews!

One of the cheapest TeamLab Japan tickets you’ll find is the one in Fukuoka. And I must say, it’s totally understandable because the place had fewer activities than in TeamLab Planets Tokyo

Best of all, you can also use the same code in booking hotels, pocket wifis, train and other theme park tickets, tours, and so much more! Check out what to book here!

So, no need to look for TeamLab Japan coupon code or anything to save on your ticket bookings. Just use the promo code in Klook app and you’ll get discounts instantly! And when you arrive at the site, all you have to do is to wait for the staff to scan your code and start your TeamLab Forest journey!

Hakata station to TeamLab Fukuoka

Whether you’re staying in Tenjin or Hakata, you won’t have a hard time getting to TeamLab Forest. All you have to do is travel (via train and walking) for less than an hour, and you’ll reach the TeamLab Fukuoka location.

See MIZUHO Pay Pay Dome? That’s how you’ll know you’re on the right track!

From the Hakata station, just ride the Airport Line and then hop off at Tojimachi station. From there, you’ll have to walk about 15 minutes, and once you see the MIZUHO Paypay Dome Fukuoka, you’ll know that you’re on the right track.

E-ZO Fukuoka, Teamlab forest
This is the building you have to look for — E-ZO Fukuoka.

TeamLab Forest is right beside that building. Eventually, you’ll see some tourists and locals going there so it’s actually not that hard to find. Although we almost went to the other building by following the locals, still, the place is still easy to find.

TeamLab Forest Fukuoka is on the 5th floor.

TeamLab Fukuoka app

After entering Fukuoka TeamLab: a Forest where God lives, the staff told us to download the app to enjoy the place better. And true enough, when you have the app on your phone, you’ll be in an interactive game instantly.

Download the app for better experience.

Not to mention the enjoyment of collecting more animals than your peers, you’ll also learn a lot from the experience.

For each animal you catch, you’ll also get the name, physical characteristics, and some other information about the animal you caught. You’ll also learn whether they’re extinct or if there’s still a lot of them around the world.

We had a bit of a hard time downloading the app, so if you want a smoother access, maybe you can check the app on playstore or appstore beforehand.

TeamLab Fukuoka virtual experience

I don’t see many TeamLab Fukuoka reviews, so while I already have an idea about TeamLab Planets Tokyo, Fukuoka’s version was a little bit different from the one in Tokyo. And since you’re here, I’m sure you want to see more TeamLab Forest photos, so I took lots to share with you!

Catching and collecting Forest

The first of TeamLab Fukuoka attractions is catching and collecting forest. And yes, it’s where you’ll be spending most of your time by looking and catching animals of different species. I found it a bit hard to catch animals on the floor, but you just have to be patient to be able to collect them all!

Of course, I wasn’t able to collect all of the animals because there are lots of them, but I did catch quite a few more than hubby.

This is how the app looks like.

There are 32 forest animals to catch and 27 sea animals, and you if you have plenty of time, you can spend longer to learn more about them. The information even has references on the app, so you’re sure they’re legit.

Bouncing Spheres

The next TeamLab Forest attraction is the Bouncing Spheres where you can immerse yourself in 4D because what you’re about to experience is walking through round surfaces, so you have to balance yourself to get to the other side.

bouncing spheres
These spheres change colors when you step on them!

Of course, you’re free to walk on the side for wall support, but the point of this area is to help you feel the challenging space to become one with your body.

My son had a great time hopping from one circle to another until he reached the other side. Best of all, the color changes with a sound as you step on another sphere during play.

Balance Stepping Stones

Much like Bouncing Spheres, Balance Stepping Stones offer another challenging experience as you balance yourself while you cross to the other side. In this area, different sounds and lights appear with every step that you make.

Choose among the different types of stepping stones for crossing and enjoy the calming sound and lights along your way.

Graffiti Nature in a Beating Valley

In the next space, you’ll be able to finally relax as you listen and watch the lights move along with the creatures colored by the visitors. The highly immersive space lets you in on a 3D experience and changes happen with every step.

Sketch Factory

At the end of the Graffiti Nature area, you’ll find Sketch Factory, a place where you can color flowers and animals using the provided oil pastels. When you’re done, scan your masterpiece on the machine, and see them come to life!

Typhoon Balls

When we’re done with the Sketch Factory, my son was very excited to pass the hallway leading to Typhoon Balls. The small hallway is comprised of many mirrors in a triangular shape, and he loved how to lights bounce off from one surface to another.

I, on the other hand, was very happy to take photos of him in different poses. Thankfully, he happily changed from one pose to another as I took memories of him!

After spending many minutes in that area (and finally, letting other people pass!), we moved on to Typhoon Balls area. It had a similar vibe to when we visited TeamLab Planets in Tokyo. But I found that the typhoon balls didn’t bounce easily as that of in TeamLab Planets.

However, you can still move the balls from one place to another. And with every movement, it changes color and makes resonating sounds. Still, another place that my son enjoyed!

Make a memorabilia with your artwork!

Before you exit TeamLab Forest Fukuoka, you’ll see a counter that lets you print out your art creations on a shirt, towel, badge, and tote bag. Of course, there’s a fee for each of them, but I’m sure that it’ll be priceless because the artist is none other than you!

TeamLab Forest Fukuoka review conclusion

Many TeamLab locations offer different attractions, however, I believe that its maker has only one goal in mind, and that is to immerse us in an interactive world. We’ve only been to 2 TeamLab branches, and TeamLab Japan Borderless might be the next on our list – but who knows where our feet will take us?

How do you find my TeamLab Forest review? Have I enticed you to visit one of its branches? I hope I did! Because it’s one of a kind interactive theme park in Japan. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section!
